Agreed. On damus, it really annoys me that I see the same repost sometimes 4 times in a row.

Another repost?

Yeah like if Odell says GM stay free and then 6 people I follow all repost it. My feed is just Odell. Don’t need to see that 6 times, please consider changing this nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s

Reposting for visibility

Switching to primal so I don’t have to see your spam

Confirmed

Sats is the notifications client.

Maybe you follow too many people who follow Odell. Diversify your follower portfolio, mahdood

His name is MANHOOD

🎯

😂

Thats what i have been doing. Muted odell and unfollow people who repost him. But i agree we should remove duplicate reposts

Adding it to my list this week

Damus is fucking goated 🫡

I was so right about Damus. Me for the win 🏆

Primal is cool but I’ve been bitching about the same issue for months now with them and it hasn’t been addressed. If Will fixes this issue then I use his client more and zap him 🤷‍♂️

Primal is the coinbase of nostr. Whoever said this originally fucking nailed it

(Noh i cannot explain why exactly)

Probably me but whatevs

They have a lot of shiny toys and it’s impressive. But half the time it just doesn’t work right. Damus has its shortcomings but it never breaks and just works. I always end up back on damus.

I think the main issue is the confusion of what our apps are. It’s comparing apples to oranges. Damus is a nostr client. primal is a client for a centralized, proprietary api that uses nostr as a data source. This api can go down. nostr can’t go down, and neither can Damus.

Last sentence is pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

So the coinbase of nostr then 😂

This will always be funny. Always. Laugh every time.

Damus from Day 1. #Damus FTW!

Holy gets it. 👆

This should just be an option to remove duplicate reposts. I have nothing against reposts, they serve a purpose.

You can just group them together. Like it could say this was reposted by 5 others.

Maybe something in that direction, but not in a way that undermines the purpose of reposting.

A repost should move that note up chronologically in the feed. It only needs to be there once.

Is damous okay on ios?

GM

That feels like it could be addressed with client side hashing of the note's contents and then deduplication. It might be a little more processor intensive but I'd not imagine it to be TOO bad on performance. Especially if it's only done on notes that are marked as reposts.
