liveED in Houston {th@ sweltering muggy heat and flatterrain & shitty Gulf water} scene was not to my liking after a yr. plus of hanging out/visitED Dallas also but this was aways back/

If you're in LA now and considering Texas, Dallas will be a major shift. Austin is much chiller.
Dallas is a corporate conservative vibe. Austin has music, food, nature and there are nostr/bitcoin people here.
It's worth visiting both before you make a choice. They're not that far from eachother.

I heard it’s really poopy: humid as fuck and tornados. Especially since you’ve been living in California for so long. It really depends on why you’re going there. If you need to save money then yea it’s cheaper but why not Florida? You get nice beaches and similar weather.
