I honestly donāt understand why people are coming here to live the life like thisā¦
I'm looking to buy land that I'm not allowed to live on, to prevent being homeless. The double-irony is, I'm allowed to sleep on public property, but not my own.
It's been like that. They come here because living in a car is a step up from where they came from.
The other day I was listening to a conversation about a woman who had to shower in runoff from a gutter ... I walked by and said do what you gotta do, no shame.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was still better than living somewhere with terrible food, more crime and deaths than you can navigate each day and no sense of opportunity (this is the "dream").

At this point the border is flooded with poor people, people seeking refuge from war/government collapse/dictatorships, fugitives, and terrorists.
Been preparing asylum cases for a while. Most of the people are coming here because they think that they can make more $ than in their home country. The stories how dangerous is for them to live in their home country is made up to get the documents over here
Well it depends. If they're coming from Haiti, it's undeniable... That's a sinking ship. But they might have been forced into that gang life.
If they're women coming from the middle east, it's probably because they want to learn to read and do math and not get stoned to death for hair or rape.
Itās much worse where they come from. People canāt fathom the level of poverty and destitution. And if youāve got two cents and the cartels have an interest in you, running away is your only hope of living ANY life at all.
That's what you think according to the Biden administration. Yes, definitely some people are running away because of communism or gangs but the majority of people come here because dollars! I would much rather that guy was up in a sink than but wash at all. If he lives in his car, he should carry a small 2 gallon bucket in his trunk, that was he can wash better as well as wash in places that don't have showers. He can also shower at many YMCAs. Hygiene over everything, because NO ONE wants to hop in a stank ass Uber!
