All nostr relay software I've encountered is subpar.

Is there a software developer out there selling their nostr relay software yet? or started their own little nostr relay software company?

In my experience, private companies tend to develop better software, while free software often results in poor-quality products.

I'm ready to buy some high quality nostr relay software but none is available.

Did you try ditto.pub ?Best relay and web ui

I visited that site and it seems it's a social media site and not a relay software site.

I'm looking for a relay software company site to buy their software so I can install and run my own relay.

ditto is both, a great relay with admin controls and spam filtering and the web ui

https://docs.soapbox.pub/ditto/install

I run it at poster.place

So it's some sort of relay and social media at the same time?

I took a look at your site and it seems cool and everything but I have no interest in running a social media site. I just want a simple relay kinda like Citrine. I'm not even looking for a relay to onboard millions of users which is what developers keep building things for. Which is dumb.

I took a look at the docs and just to install it is ridiculous. All these useless developers are living in a cave. They seem to make software that requires me fiddling around with Linux commands.

When you buy software normally they build it without requiring the user to mess around in the Linux CLI.

Software that requires you to mess around with the Linux CLI is usually trash and a waste of time. Developers who build this type of software are targeting a small minority of tech savvy users who will probably not even buy theire software.

By the way that software seems to be free so it confirms what I was saying, that free software is often trash.

all trash. re-read the note.

So you want to purchase software to run on your servers. Do people still make that anymore?

Yes they do but not as many as in the past. I have a license with xenforo and Chevereto. I've been a customer of them for many years. It's great software and great service.

As the years went by, I've seen many software developers work for free now on what they call "open source". It's like they gave up on trying to sell software and turned themselves into slaves of open source. Wasting their talents away.

relay.tools uses strfry relays on Contabo with haproxy

also it’s NFDB, not noswhere, and I wouldn’t call it trash since it is still pre-production and the test relay has been working as well as strfry does for me

wss://nfdb.noswhere.com

i tried strfry and it is trash. It's always going to be in pre-production because it's just random people who contribute to it.

Why would I use relay.tools website. Reminds me when forums were popular and some website came out with make your own forum on there website.

That's all trash.

why would you use relay.tools? that is pretty easy: not everyone has the knowledge to run their own relays or wants to bother with the actual hosting,

strfry is decent, my biggest pet peeve is that it is extremely hard to customize

Well maybe I didn't explain my note good enough or no took the time to read what I wrote. I will have to re-write it in the future.

But in short I am looking for a relay software similar to WordPress. WordPress is easy to install and manage. I don't want to be fiddling around with the Linux CLI. Customers don't want to be messing around with Linux commands. I want to be in control my own software. WordPress allows that.

(cant see the event youre quoting 🤔)
