bitcoin really is becoming the native currency of the internet.

kids born today will no longer interact with fiat currency, they will only use bitcoin for payments, savings and investments.

let's go 🚀

Convinced⚡️

Right.

Totally agree.👍

I made a sub-wallet for my daughter using Alby Hub.

She uses it like money. When I buy something for her, she pays me back in Bitcoin.

That's awesome. Let us know if you hit any limitations with sub-wallets. We can work on it!

Thank you 😊

I’ll be sure to inform you if I face any limitations

Can you point me to a resource to do the same thing? Been searching for wallets to onboard my kids but nothing has worked cleanly so far

Here it is.

The funny thing is, my daughter doesn’t even want to spend it.

She just wants to save. She’s a real HODLer! 😂

That’s the spirit! Let her HODL now, she’ll join the circular economy when the time is right 😉⚡

One step closer to full Bitcoin mode!

Thanks! Totally agree.

full Bitcoin life is coming soon 😄

My 11 year old is excited to receive Bitcoin

Sounds like my daughter! 😆

Hopefully they will have the right to use cash

Is it? I thought it was for storing JPGs of monkeys. My bad.

The world is healing 🧡

Yes 🙌

The strongest money will win 🤷‍♂️

So 9,256 Bitcoin only worth $10 again?

Oh well, was fun while it lasted.

Bitcoin 🤧

Monero ⚡

No one is going to use Bitcoin if it has crashed back to 10k Bitcoin is $10 except maybe Laszlo.

Yestr

Love the capabilities enabled 🤙💜⚡️

Why not sats,though 🤪?

I think it would work by disregarding the decimal

🤣♟️

In the face of "it should be sats!, no it should be bits!, bleghh", you can just do shit.

And honestly, I don't think it matters. Either you know and you adapt to it, or you don't know but it's all relative so who cares.

When merchants start to compare notes and they're using different units, they'll learn. It ain't hard.

Sorry Johnny, this business doesn’t accept Bitcoin so you’ll have to hold onto your allowance and find a business that has a Bitcoin POS terminal!

Fuck Bits We Stack Sats.

This rebranding of Satoshis is simply put, wrong and shady. No one asked for it. It's the same as Jack supporting BIP177 and 2.1 quadrillion Bitcoin.

All looks like sabotaging bitcoin.

It is sabotage, as it is guaranteed to cause confusion. If it gains traction, there will come a time when no one knows what anyone means by “bitcoin.” It’s a modern Babel.

They can't fight the network at protocol level so they start with rebranding and destroying the anonymous Satoshi Nakamoto legend that they fear so much. Pretty obvious for anyone who dares to ask questions. Big up Mike.

BIP177 is the product of the positive feedback loop of groupthink around billionaires

I know you didn’t come up with that screenshot, but I feel the need to mention that using the Bitcoin symbol for sats is a bad idea. 😅 That’s only going to cause confusion.

Aside from that, I agree 😁

Let's say the POS system requires a symbol. I dunno if it does, but let's just say it does. There is no agreed-upon symbol for Sats. Any one of the current candidates, take your pick—a LOT of people hate it. So what do you do?

That’s a fair point.

I don’t know what the right symbol would be. But I know it’s not the Bitcoin symbol 🤷‍♂️

Maybe just “S”?

Sounds like we need some community effort on designing a good Sats symbol!

It's a tricky one. There have been community efforts to design a Sats symbol for 10 years, and we’re no closer today. Sometimes communities just can’t agree. Not only that but even if one option emerged as the clear leader in the next 5 years it might still take another 5 years after that to get it into Unicode.

Problem is what happens when the POS systems need a symbol now, can't wait?

You only spoke the truth. Though it’s still confusing for ppl using the btc symbol incorrectly. At this point they should have used the real btc denomination (0,00’009’876). I personally like to see the whole 8 digits

Yeah, I don’t have a good answer aside from the Bitcoin symbol isn’t it.

We definitely need something for sats. That, or just use the accurate amount of bitcoin, I guess (0.00009876 or whatever).

SAT/sat/S/s – any of them is better than suggesting it's 9 thousand bitcoin.

https://satsymbol.com/ really not sure who doesn't like this or why.

Oooh nice! That should be added to Unicode.

Best one so far.

Let’s go

The market will ignore this bits and boops bullshit and use sats

If sat is somehow too confusing because people don't understand that currencies have smaller units (what are these "CENTS"; my bank account only has US Dollars!), then perhaps at LEAST using the linguistically accurate "nanobit" (nBTC) is the middle way, as nano- refers to 1/100,000,000 of something. As for the KYC regulations, who I am is "nano" yo business :-).

No solid symbol for nanobits yet.

Which app is this?

Square point of sale

Same guys that run cash app , block, etc

I think 🤔

I’m sorry Bitcoin will never be a currency. Lightning has too many limitations and it will never scale for the masses to use it. Kaspa is the only way!

Eu mesmo já repasso pro meu filho tudo que posso e ele já vai usando meu bitcoin junto comigo para poder ter ciencia e poupança, 9 anos

to think that our generation has a chance to right a serious wrong and hand the keys to a better world to those that come after us is a remarkable opportunity in human history. let’s do the damn thing!
