Okay this is odd but kinda interesting.

So I watched this clip a few times cos I edited it in the car and noticed that the shop manager does something odd.

I asked “all good on your end?” In the clip when I got the green tick from nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg

notice how the shop manager doenst check his phone he just puts it away.

AND there isn’t the green tick on his phone screen that you would usually expect to see when my phone shows the tick.

I was like Dafuq is going on?!

So I went back to the shop and asked him how they accept btc.

Turns out he had received the invoice as a screenshot from his boss in a WhatsApp message.

He was showing me that screenshot AND because he knew I was filming as i asked permission, he wanted it to look slick.

Very kind of him, sure but it makes me feel a bit weird about sharing this clip as “I paid in bitcoin at this shop.”

I mean I did, technically, but the real story is more complicated.

Note that I’d been to this shop 4 days ago to buy a SIM card in btc and I hadn’t realised at the time that he must have done the same thing:

Ping his boss the request for the invoice and he showed me the screenshot.

That's actually pretty noble of you to mention that. Kudos🙏🏻.

I want bitcoin to be the best money and we don’t get there via toxic positivity.

When I can catch stuff interesting stuff like this I want to point it out it really is in my interest so we can create better solutions.

But thank you! ☺️

Yep, #Bitcoin IS the best money. You was simply pointing out that what you was doing wasn't 100% EXACTLY as it seemed. If the guy behind the counter was the owner, it would have been as quick and legitimate as it seemed. Even though it was 100% legitimate anyway, if you know what I mean😂.

This moment here. And he kinda hides the phone. Clever dude and a nice gesture but I think it’s important to share the whole story

I don't get it.

Who did you pay? Him or his boss?

To his boss via the screenshot his boss texted him!

Say he presented a QR code to his own wallet instead of his boss's. How will the boss even know? Interesting dilemma

People use Bitcoin in different ways. You paid in Bitcoin and he trusted your phone's animation. Nothing wrong with that. People used to trust that the check you wrote would clear.

Yeah man - this is it. Plus he was being kind to me as he wanted the content to look good!!

You are so honest!! Topan

The shop keeper is the chad here - he was trying to help me as he knew I was making content from me. Pretty cool he did that.

Now I’ve seen the clip loads I see he kinda hides the phone and fist bumps with the left hand.

Still, to point it out is class JH

For some businesses integrations don’t make sense for the volume. Better put a sticker that says “Bitcoin accepted here “ have a good employee when you are not there and play it by ear. I’m sure they receive lots of cash payments and they may just treat them the same way. Some declared some …

Oui C’est ça. And I like that.

Some say “bitcoin is great to avoid tax- it’s like cash” in Curaçao and I’m like bro I can’t publish that on the internet 🤣

@chaserice

Yeah that kinda tricky as a business owner letting your employees take bitcoin on your behalf if you don't have a POS setup, so that's kind of a smart work around from the bosses perspective.

There are quite a few good PoS implementation now that give staff receiving support only.

i paid my trainer at the outdoor gym they used to have in el zonte like this

This post is even more important than your OP. Kudos
