I think this is only true if you're insane. I never, ever thought it was addicting when I could and did do it.

Run at a slower pace until it's funnier. Then slowly speed back up.

I don't run at all anymore. Too much abuse over the years. Still way too fat.

Well you need to do something, don't just sit on your ass

I am. I walk. I've lost >65lbs since December.

But running?

πŸ₯³

I'm also losing weight. I've cut out 90% of sugared drinks the past two months. It has a huge effect also on my daily mood and energy level.

Or, correction: Not 'huge', but certainly significant and good on all three items (body weight, energy level during the day and mood and general well-being).

Good. Keep it up. Free yourself from slow poison. 😎

Checked the marathon box once. Never again. I'll stick to sub 3 milers and barbell training.

How did you feel after finishing?

Could barely walk. Fwiw, trained for three weeks in my 20s and came from a crossfit foundation. Also was deployed to AFG working 12hr night shifts. Got off at 4am and ran at 5:30am. If you're half as retarded as I was, a marathon is probably fine. Or if your frame is half my size πŸ˜…

I ran probably the fist half and then walk/jogged a third, then walk shuffled the last. Finished around 4.5hr mark.

my mom was a runner but eventually wore out her knees/ she did offer running on softer surfaces for mitigation

Cocaine is addictive too πŸ‘Œ

I prefer running faster instead of farther. Overtaking everyone else in the park feels great.

Sweet spot is between 5km and 10km.

I’ve run 4 marathons and lots of half marathons. It’s all in the mind πŸ€™πŸ”₯

My joints beg to differ. 😝
