this basically gave us lists for free as well. just need a UI for searching for them.

you can definitely be notified when you are added to a list.

You get to outsource your feed curation to someone else.
Always want the latest hot commentary on xyz but without doing any work at all? Column a followpack from a respected curator.
They update their list.
You get a fresh feed.

All of this assumes people (can) only talk about one thing in their feed.
A dark pattern that creates all the influencer tendencies all over again.
Interoperable Communities are a 10x better solution to "Outsourcing feed curation".

On Nostr I hope to stay a free ME, to post whatever. I will not divide myself to please the masses. I'm ok with having few followers as opposed to X, but want good quality interactions instead.

I think reddit has a bit of the opposite effect, where someone can post about very different topics, but then it’s like, scattered? Idk, I just like the blog vibe where it’s ‘your’ page and you can put whatever you want on there.
