It was delicious, and gone in under 5 minutes.

Damn...yeah, I dug one of mine out; this was the first Bitcoin purchase in my home cities history, so there is that...but ยฃ400+ for a dvd?! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜ช๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคฎ

Andy Serkis is worth at least 400 quid.

That might get me past this initial purchase...it's the subsequent dozens of dvds that make me really sad ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜ช๐Ÿ˜Ž

If it makes you feel any better, Laszlo didnโ€™t just spend 10,000 BTC on pizzasโ€”he says he spent 100,000 in total. We got off easy, man! ๐Ÿคฃ

I had read that he distributed those bitcoin because he was using a faster miner and winning all the blacks and Satoshi asked him to stop

Was he the first to use a GPU?

If memory serves he started off GPU mining

So at 50 BTC per block he would have to have mined 2000 blocks over the course of a span of just a few weeks to earn 100,000 BTC. Did I math right?

About 14 days to mine 100,000 BTC if he had won every single block?

Yes, that is the math.

Lordy.

I just ordered the book โ€œDigital Goldโ€ by Nathaniel Popper fro the library, supposed to tell this story and should be a good read.

From a quick scan, looks like he wrote the first code to mine in GPUs. Satoshi thought it was too much for the early network, but eventually the car was out of the bag and the hash race was on.

Wish I could have been there to see that.

Good times ๐Ÿ˜‚
