Nations are quite simply incompatible with the internet.

Like Catholicism after the printing press, or Monarchy after the death of God, they can never again be more than shells of their former selves.

This is inevitable, but..

The urge to resist this new reality could cause untold suffering, like the 30-Years War after the printing press, and the World Wars after the death of God.

Is this avoidable? Can we forge a new order in peace? Or must the old literally die first?

God is alive bro

The death of God refers to his fall from unquestioned authority in the popular imagination after the enlightenment and Darwin. For instance, he could no longer be used to justify the divine right to rule.

And look how that turned out lol

People are so “enlightened” today that they worship the state or the weather instead

Good morning ☕️☕️

We’re back to walls (and private keys)

Quite possibly, but what do walls really do when Mossad can blow up your coffee machine?

Presskanne og håndkvernede bønner! GM! ☕️

- Sir, the target was using a French press, we didn't stand a chance.

🤣

I really like the idea of building an alternate reality that is accessible, actually works, & offers a better future, or what we’re doing with Bitcoin

Slowly but surely people transfer across from old to new

Won’t happen overnight. Wont happen with a big bang.

Truth is: even asking the questions you’re posing is unthinkable to the 99%

We have a long way to go!

Excellent questions. I don't see the nation states necessarily dying out, just diminishing in importance. Same thing has happened with the examples you mentioned: they're still around, but not in the same sense as they once were.

Couldn’t agree more but peace is coming! Bitcoin is a tool different than all other tools of human history. The nature of power and energy has changed.

Woops. No I didn’t. Maybe this?

I'm not clear what you're trying to do.

Haha. Trying to refer back to a note I posted as a response to your post. Essentially, trying to articulate how I think the nature of power is changing with Bitcoin. So peace is a more likely outcome than violence as this all resolves itself.
