A lot of really smart people are horrible public speakers and a lot of really dumb people are excellent speakers. I’d say it’s probably why there has always been conman and broke geniuses.

We're all dumb at something. In my experience, intelligence is most often narrowly expressed, and not broadly evident. Smart people are usually careful to only reveal that narrow band of intellect, like the good side of their face. Witnessing their stupidity is actually a rare pleasure.

Smart does not mean think for yourself. It's not even related. Most people are herd followers, doesn't matter how smart they are individually.

Everyone says/does stupid things occasionally. If they act smart most of the time, they have my respect.
