Ok, Iβve finally decided that it was too hard for me to explain how to compress and process videos, so I created an app for iOS to help you with that. I have to admit that I spent too much time on the features that nobody will probably care about, but nonetheless, here we are. Please test, provide feedback, and look forward to more features and integrations.

The idea that I'm uploading huge and slow video to my media server is causing me almost physical pain.
I do not use or have a decent Android device unfortunately, sorry about that. I understand the pain, thatβs why I created my own app. π«
No need to apologize. You created an awesome app. I'm just sad that there is foss solution on Android, but it seems to be abandoned and the last version sucks. :-(
That would be such a handy tool.. But it's very slow since it doesn't seem to use gpu acceleration.
Nowadays with 4k and 60fps being common using a native library like Mediacodec is a must.
Also you can't set Bitrate, that's the most important setting for streaming videos.
I'm an FFmpeg boy I don't mind waiting. :-)
This post inspired me to enhance the amethyst video compression. It's already using the gpu accelerated native library... Just needs a bit smarter configurations!
This is awesome. I was always a little wary about using #Amethyst for media compression. It gives me very little information about what is going on. If you can change that with smart configs, it would be a game changer.

Look at the output from this app. It does a great job of minimizing size while maximizing quality, better than any other app I have tried. Not open source unfortunately.

I think we can make it even better to create faster streaming videos for nostr.
Iβll test this next time I have a video to upload! It looks great, much cleaner and more intuitive than other apps Iβve used for this in the past.

I have been doing this thanks for making a single app Iβll try it out and see if itβs better than my normal flow. Can you integrate your Nostr.Build product further into this? Just an idea. Rather than flowing into a client interface. A direct upload to Nostr.build and provision a link? Maybe other media management depending on other options in Nostr.build. Iβm not a content creator so I donβt really know, but just seems like thatβs what your app should do.

Brand new to nostr⦠but the fact a community member made a dapp to support the network for free is amazing!
Protip: use this app to compress your videos before uploading to Nostr. Itβs good and doesnβt have annoying ads like all the other video compression apps.
