Interesting. Could be in part due to small community size here, which may not last. Another thought, for me, I'd like to use this one npub across multiple existing and future clients/apps smoothly like nostr allows, so feel more invested in my rep I guess lol
There's a lot of nasty shit on nostr. Whatever is keeping it from our view is doing a good job tho.

There is no HATE relay here
No rules, everyone gets along more or less. More rules, people feel the need to break them. This is a unique space.
Ironically politicians and their minions claim that we need regulation on social media to prevent hate speech but in the most decentralized government-free social networking protocol you hardly find any kind of hate speech

At this particular moment in time, Nostr seems to be a focused and passionate community.

I think the same, it's the community that is building #nostr .
Hater are not there yet.
But they will come if "famous" people come here with mass usage.
A hater can be "mute" and recreate an account easy just after... which is harder on other social network. So it will be a pain for the one who is targeted by the harder to mute any recreate profile...
I am also worry about bot/spam filtering in this network, and a way to protect us against that.
Not easy when you don't know if it is a bot or a human under each profile. And keep accept new legit profile...
Next step should be a network of truth to detect that.
I think it was the same with email and spam :
- In the beginning email was not used for spam.
- spam came and was 99% of email
- protection have been activate but useful and legit mail were detected as spam
- email is less used and filter still detect spam but better.
For me #nostr will have to protect his network on 2 points :
- relay and client should protect user to be over flood by bots (detection of unhuman/loud behavior)
- to increase the trust and keep anonymity, having more tools to "pin" user as bot or annoying or whatever, instead of just mute. I don't know yet how to improve this point, to avoid fake "pin" by bot or hater, but perhaps some people could have good ideas about it.

I think it's there, it's just that you've chosen not to see it &/or your client doesn't serve it to you.
Nostr does incentivise respectful dialogue though.
It takes PoW to be seen and people quickly hide npubs that they don't want to see.
With Bitcoin integrated, another layer of incentives influence the content.

This is so important and the thing that convinces me Nostr with blow everything else out of the water.
Go to a country where they allow people to drink at a young age, and barely enforce laws around alcohol……..guess what, very few drunks and almost no binge drinking engrained in the culture.
