If I were a home builder I’d be investing in VR tours with interactive elements allowing the user to customize everything with a motion of the hand.
So much new tech available but we are still required to use our imaginations and look at static 3d models.

That would be really cool but it makes no sense to spend money in this market. The large majority of new housing is built as fully financed, prebuilt developments, and they are sold with the least customer choice to prevent added expense and construction material variation. Then also because supply remains insanely low and the market is hugely propped up by debt markets, the builders have unlimited customers. So they don't have to innovate or do anything to appeal to new buyers. Just the opposite, they can get rid of them.
Basically this wont happen until the markets realign in a huge way, but even then the adjustment will be slow because many builders will get wiped out.
But yes that would be a cool idea 🤣
I’m in Japan and there’s quite a bit of customization that can go into any model they show you. They even say so. But the things they show are always static and boring. You can go see some model homes or get a 3d tour even but none of it would leave an impression on me as being able to change everything I see - from the model furniture to more than a handful of color or material options. You can see all of it but usually no in any interactive way.
They work pretty hard for your business here.

We moved in to a new build in our development in 2021. The available features, add-ons and upgrades were not limitless, but many.
Same builder/developer is now selling the same model in the next phase for 2x the price, no customization/add-ons and are now guaranteeing financing to perspective buyers. The phase of 399 homes opened recently and sold out in hours.
I see a lot of new home builders using VR tours and a lot of the rental market too , but juts someone selling an old home either by owners or small real estate outfits I do not ,, I have to wonder of all the sales, where the most movement is in that market ? I met a lady whose developed something like this and they market it to the photogs more than the rental agencies . But that was a while ago so I’m not sure what they have going on now .
Lots of architects and developers have been doing this for years. Decades even.
