Too Many Jackasses?

Doesn't cause me headaches (plenty of other things do), but if you can try to sleep with a neck support and no pillow, so your head is further back, your mouth tends to naturally unclench and even open. Though extra hours help.

My tmj is stress induced. I have a mouth guard thing that I am supposed to sleep with but haven’t adapted to yet. Controlled breathing, yoga, and exercise is the way to go.

I’m trying the mouth guard hopefully this week… definitely need to get better on breathing.

🌻Not medical advice, just sharing what I use:

Dosage is 1 drop p/lb of body weight. Works for me. Warnings: can be blood thinner, do not recommend it within 30 days of surgery & has same affect on liver as acetaminophen.

Dont sleep with weight on your jaw

Used to. Started daily jaw exercises and wore trays at night to retrain my brain/jaw to reset. That was about 10 years ago. Now I only use the trays at the end of extremely stressful days.

If it's anything like bruxism, it can be painful and destructive to your teeth, while causing headaches and potentially broken teeth problems. In some cases you can crack a molar while you sleep. The next day you have neck pain, perhaps swollen gums, and of course those lovely headaches to go with it.

A few things that can help:

Find a good magnesium and take sufficient amounts of it. You might need other supplements to go with it. If you haven't taken much magnesium before, then it might send you to the toilet a little more often until your system gets used to it, totally normal.

Lookup tooth brackets, or retainers for bruxism. Get one and wear it every night. This will save your teeth, and reduce the headaches. They look similar to Invisalign, just more robust.

The jaw exercises can help a lot. It's also good to gently stretch your jaw by holding it lower and slightly forward. Do this everytime you feel stressed, even if it does feel a bit goofy.

It often hits worst when you are short on sleep. Thankfully babies do grow up.

Take care, our thoughts and prayers are with all of you!

😅 my husband just had the magnesium chat with me this morning…I suppose I’ll try it again. Supplements gave me stomach aches, so fix one thing, break another lol

try that

it's way easier and it's super effective

There are 12 different types of magnesium. Anything with citrate tends to be too acid for many people. The easiest to digest is the one from floradix, since it is made from natural ingredients. The taste is relativity easy to get used to. If I take too much I'm running for the bathroom. A funny side effect is it can improve your vision for a few hours.

If your stomach does not like the supplement, it means it's not right for you. Try to find a better quality one. It means researching all the different calcium's, magnesiums, zinc, etc. I wish there was a shorter way, it really does pay off in the long run. Try some different ones until you find one that does not hurt.

You got this!

A little info on what the magnesium does. It helps with the communication to the muscles, and let's them know when it's time to relax. Our food used to have sufficient amounts of it, however, modern foods often leave us lacking. I would send you a floradix to try, but since I don't have your address I'll do the next best thing, I'll zap you the sats to buy it. I just found it at iherb.com.

Consider it a baby gift from a fan who loves the work you and walker do!

Omg!! 🥹 that is SO so so so so kind!! Thank you, thanks to your generosity I’ll be sure to try it and report back! 🧡😬💢

Glad to do it, it's the least I can do! Thanks to your videos I got through some tough hodling times and I'm in a much better place now because of them. It's incredible how Nostr makes this possible 🎉❤️💐

Do not know too much about tmj but from what I read some of the underlying causes could be stress, mouth breathing, clenching, poor tongue posture. If not the cause those at least contribute to symptoms.

Do you mostly nasal breath? What about tongue posture? Might want to look into mewing

Yep. Many possible causes means many possible solutions. Usually stress related but can also be caused by an accident, orthodontics, & more. Jaw positioning can affect breathing, posture, and the vestibular system. Muscle relaxants can help alleviate.

Read the book Breath by James Nestor. I got epigenetic orthodontics and it reversed the damage done by my original orthodontics, cured my TMJ disorder, bruxism and sleep apnea.
