Unpopular opinion:
It makes no sense to delete Twitter in order to grow Nostr. Growing Nostr makes Nostr grow, not the shrinking of another platform.
NOSTR exclusive content is helpful for growth as is the sharing of NOSTR exclusive content outside of NOSTR.
Deleting Twitter is just virtue signaling, not something that is helpful for growing the Nostr network.
Utilizing NOSTR makes Twitter obsolete.
IMO, there are far too many bitcoiners who are far too reliant on Twitter for their reach. At this point, it is a challenge to the bitcoiners who are reliant on Twitter to figure out how to change their business models to achieve success without the reach afforded by the centralization of twitter.

We need robust parallel alternatives to FB/YT censorship. I do however agree with Jeff Booth about focusing your finite time & energy on the most worthwhile things in your life.
NOSTR should be near the top of that list (as far as social media goes anyway)
While on the base I agree with you that it doesn't grow nostr. It does however create a social void for that user that will then likely be filled by nostr exclusively instead of Twitter which will grow the platform. Additionally if that user had any reach to other users outside of nostr their exclusivity to the protocol will grow the reach nostr has.
I think the delete Twitter movement is more about mental health. Bragging about it is the virtue signal. But yes NOSTR only content is the best way to grow 🍻
I see it as similar to Bitcoin. I'm long Bitcoin, which means I'm short the dollar. By putting my energy into bitcoin and subtracting from the fiat system it grows nostr and shrinks the influence of the dollar.
Depends who, and how many delete Twitter.
Inevitably people will delete Twitter and all socials, when they realize how horrible it is for them. It takes some time.

You should NOT delete twitter .. or anything else ...
- because it is a sheer wastage of five minutes
- another hour to explain people why you did it - makes you look like a snob cuz up until now you were gaga over twitter
- and then there will be hundreds of emails chasing you back into platform . Because all Elon needs is you to click one email link - in one month - to boost his MAU .. for the love of your email ..please don't delete ..
- and lastly - where would you stop ? - hate is endless - will you will start deleting your email accounts to prove your love for Nostr ?
The idea of #onlyNostr is to drop everything else "as is "........ spend your daily 30 minutes of social on #nostr .. if you are dev - spend two hours .. if you are Pablo - may be three hours :-)
Do you think a Twitter/X gateway feature would be useful for a Nostr client? It would pull in your X feed via the X API, and allow you to preview that content in your Nostr client, then repost/reply to/quote tweets here on Nostr. With link backs to the original tweet.
That could be a way of piggybacking on Twitter’s network effect, while creating a parallel social engagement here on Nostr.
