I absolutely love that we can have intelligent conversations here where even when we don’t agree on all points, there is no hostility, and it doesn’t end in ad hominem attacks and muting each other. We’ve created something truly revolutionary. No wonder so many people are scared of it.

Certainly, to a limited degree. Incentives matter… tho choices much more.
Hard to believe that people are really just “better people” (like some sort of spontaneous-saint-creation) just because modern homicide rates* are proportionally lower.

Occasional exceptions to the rule don’t have to count. There will always be tourists who want to stir up trouble, but they don’t get amplified and the overall vibe doesn’t change. I could be naïve, but I hope not.
The role of zaps in this cannot be understated.
They encourage constructive discourse and conflict resolution.
the lack of incentivizing controversy via the old social media engagement algos + the positive reinforcement that is zaps has completely flipped the script for social media IMO.
Idk if anyone has really thought this through deeply yet but to me it’s novel and deserves a close eye as things develop.
On Nostr you’re only rewarded for engaging constructively. Negative reply’s get you ignored or blocked.

What I like is that others are willing to help when asking something about this platform. I came 3 days ago on Nostr and others took the effort to answer me when I asked something.
On Twitter that doesn't happen. I'm a nobody there anyway. 😅
