Did you get home safely? πŸ«‚πŸ«‚πŸ«‚

yes! and immediately fell asleep. πŸ˜‚

We were making trouble till 0:30

Trying to find a place to stay and drink something πŸ˜‚

I like the idea of renting a house, next time, so that we have someplace with a kitchen and can run our own bar, and retreat there, in the end. Just have to throw everyone out, in the end, who doesn't rent a room.

We're not a very loud or rowdy bunch, literally just want to sit around drinking beer and chatting for hours.

#[4] Can we call our mobile bar The Npub?

My husband said it's a #NostrStammtisch.

Our own pub, love it

Makes sense that the Npub isn't always in the same place, since Nostr is everywhere.

Also, I know how to make actual good hamburgers and fajitas and stuff. The three of us know how to prepare food and we wouldn't have to wait until the lazy waitress deigns to take our order.

And so much cheaper. πŸ˜‚ They be like €5 for a beer. πŸ™ˆ

Maybe I'm overly-critical, but we paid a bunch of money, yesterday, and the frens where great, but the businesses were very underwhelming,

We lost contact with some people because we had no "central point", the waitress screamed at us for nothing, after serving us beer in the bottle, the waiter threw us out into an actual storm, none of the other businesses actually wanted us around, and we were left wandering around in the rain, asking if they have room at the inn. πŸ˜‚

Nostr. The Christmas Story.

fiat business is so fiat

Fr fr no cap. The service was so bad, everywhere, it became a running joke.

yeah, the burgers at Bitcoin Atlantis were so ho hum also... and made from veal steaks 🀒 - and we waited in a line that reached about 20m long to get them

would be so cool to be in a place where everyone is bitcoin and nostr and the food was made with actual love and didn't need to brag about it on the advertising, and the beef was from so close they could have walked the cows to the butcher to be slaughtered

oof

the end of this system can't come soon enough for me

Yeah, I think we're just gonna do that.

We could even use a grill. πŸ€” Barbecue party.

YES

#YESTR!

And I didn't even think about the fact that someone might bring a dog or a baby, or something. A rented apartment or house is much better for that, than a restaurant.

Or someone with chronic illness or disability.

They could probably make it to one quiet place and just chill there with us, but they wouldn't be able to join a pub crawl through the city.

If you have a home base, a group can do the pub crawl and the rest can keep chilling. πŸ€”

haha that reminds me of how it was in Bratislava at Wild Elephants in the old city

i went out on one, one time, and saw this awesome indy metal band playing in this area that was like a 17th century dungeon wine cellar, for real, was awesome, but man i got way way too drunk lol

I used to arrange this sort of informal house party for our development team. We'd rent a big house and bought food and drink, and then we'd split the check, and some people would come early or stay late and talk shop.

And we'd have a bonfire and roast marshmellows and bratwurst. Was fun.

We did it out in the country, on a good train/autobahn route, and just made sure that there was an actual inn, nearby, so that everyone could rent a room.

there is a little cafe/bar near me called As Caboquinhas (the name of a tool for making fruit punch drinks) run by a dude and his two 20-something daughters, and their burgers are great and the vibe there is so family, almost a bit overwhelming for me as a stranger to be there when the big crowd shows up on sundays and such

such places exist in the world but mostly in rural areas

Yeah, we have places like that, here. That's what I'm used to.

I got rural standards. 😎

It's amazing that in Europe I was able to easily find a place to rent a chalet for a fairly small amount of money per day just to spend time in the countryside, but I can't find anything like that here because all the offerings on the market are aimed at large groups and alcohol, so the price of a house starts at $200 per day. $600 to spend 3 days sitting with my cat under a tree in "my own" garden is too much.

Bigger airbnbs should be payable here when it’s divided πŸ™πŸΌ

Yeah, if it costs €800/night, and you have 15 people and you buy the good and drink, then you're probably looking at €1500 in total, which would be €100/person, which high-quality stuff. Could probably get it down to €80 or so.

That's what I'm saying: all these offerings in Russia are designed for large companies and parties, not for one person with a cat. There are no such problems in Europe.

I saw some places that were quite inexpensive and fabulous, but they usually don't have a good train connection.

Train connection immediately doubles the price, but I think it's worth it. Otherwise, you would need a shuttle.

Uber isn't a thing?

Sure, but you would need a lot of them. And a lot of us have flat-rate public monthly tickets.

So you have to balance accommodation vs transportation costs. Are there are decent vehicle rental services where you could rent something to shuttle people back and forth in a manner that is cost effective enough to make sense?

Americans. πŸ™„

Dude, I'm there to party, not chauffeur. That's what public transportation is for.

I... Always volunteer for stuff like that... πŸ˜
