Encrypted group chat creates a false sense of privacy. Devices are weak points. Doesn't matter if messages are secure over the wire if a single device is pwned. People frequently share secrets, and agents often infiltrate chats.
Group chats are as private as group conversations in a pub. Just depends who is listening and whether the content is worth being careful about.

I thought, ok the time is coming to introduce encrypted group chat (when those start functioning)... When communities everywhere begin to create these types of groups. But does it even matter...
