It's funny when you see an influencer join #Nostr and they haven't quite built up the same level of followers as on the bird site or other legacy social media.
Then you comment on one of their posts, asking a general question. No rudeness or trolling, just a genuine engagement opportunity. But they never respond as if you were a needle in a haystack of commenters.
Like bruh, I'm literally the only person who has replied to your post in hours...

Ya it's hard to say if they didn't respond or just didn't see it. Cause theyr blastin' to all relays but their client is reading back from few
That's a fair point. Some times I do miss comments/reactions/reposts depending upon whether or not the relay is feeling grumpy at that moment and wants to give up the goods. Consistent sync and relay health might be a considerable issue in the future.
It's tough building from scratch.
But every time I start getting rowdy on other platforms I quickly run back to Nostr to reconnect. Just in case the ban hammer strikes. 🤣 🤣
Few things make me happier than watching algorithm people shout into the void and get nothing back. Welcome to reality.
They’ll learn. There isn’t an algorithm on nostr to bring followers to their profile. They will have to interact with users, so people know that they exist.

If someone makes a reply to one of my notes I will normally zap or like their reply. It's fun to also discuss or debate. I do skip some replys because I don't know what to say.
Engagement is important.
I noticed some npubs where others will reply week after week and they never get any response or any reply to their comments.
If that happens to me I would stop following them. Its not necessary to get a response all the time but at least some acknowledgment that the person is interacting with their followers, or else it might just be a fake profile, bot, fed... etc
