Just send whole bitcoins?
đ.. any amount/fraction of bitcoin works too. Now with cheap fees its a good time to try it out.
Nice ui tho. I was thinking of checking out the whole platform myself beyond the email that Iâve loved for years.
Itâs doesnât have lightning support yet, they have said it is in the works. But it is a hodl wallet at this point. Or that is what I see it as. I buy some BTC each month, a small part goes to my lightning app and the rest goes in a wallet like proton ( I have sparrow also) and just sits.
What is the unique selling point of Proton Wallet, why should anyone use it?
I think it's the "send btc via email" feature. That's new and makes it very easy to send/receive payments beyond the btc/LN niche we are in on Nostr. Once LN and possibly other fiat on top of LN is implemented, sending money p2p will be more easily accesible by mainstream. That's also what I understood from Proton CEO in his recent interview https://youtu.be/gUGJje2jvck?si=zGVUkX_k_XTXbqfp
no lightning?
My take: itâs not for you. Or me. Iâve got beta access. This is for onboarding some large percentage of those 100M (yes, really) Proton users. Which would be amazing.
nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev's recent interview with the founder & CEO is a worthwhile listen. He speaks specifically to how until they can deliver non-custodial Lightning, they wonât ship it. God help them.
They should partner with nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm on that.
Give him a ring. đ
Agree with the point that this is a great entry point for current Proton users. They already trust the name, so extending to a wallet is a natural step.
Pay me one Bitcoin and I'll pay you two so we can test it out.
I just look at mine occasionally
