Russian oil refinery in Nizhny Novgorod earlier today, 800km from Ukraine.

Far more effective to help Ukraine blow up Russia's economy with drones and agents that worry about Bitcoin sanctions.

...and as for anyone killed at that facility: they were war criminals, directly helping Russia fund its invasion. Fuck them.

Huh?

So people working at an oil refinery deserve death now? I would hope you can explain to the victim families that the deaths of their sons, brothers and fathers were necessary collateral damage in the war for democracy.

Khorne is a happy boy these days. Just insane bloodlust from all sides.

The oil from that oil refinery goes directly to fueling military vehicles used to invade Ukraine, as well as getting sold to fund the invasion. It's a clear military target.

The invasion is clearly immoral and illegal – even genocidal. The people working at that refinery damn well know what they're supporting and killing them to stop the war is both ethical, and effective.

War itself is a crime against humanity. People earning wages to survive are not war criminals, this is a nutty take. While poor people are getting bombed and shredded to bits, raped and maimed, the main movers of the war are safely tucked away behind enemy lines.

Can we stop dehumanizing the side we don't like? And maybe take a step back before posting war propaganda.

Oh please. Stop both siding this issue. Ukraine is the one getting invaded; Russia is the one invading. Russian society clearly has significant support for the invasion and Ukrainian society is just preventing themselves from getting slaughtered.

The onus is on Russian society to change. That definitely includes the on average relatively highly skilled people working at facilities like oil refineries. If they want a clean conscience, they should quit those jobs and leave Russia. Or better yet, sabotage the plants.

Sometimes it helps to give some hint that you’re joking (which I sincerely hope you are)… there are so many psychos out there these days who think certain other humans (like Palestinians for example) don’t even have the right to breathe, so this could easily be taken at face value

I am certainly not joking. And Gazans of course absolutely do share a lot of responsibility for Hamas, who they democratically elected into power. That's one reason why it's perfectly ok for Israel to wage war against Hamas, who are likely supported by the majority of the Gazan population; pre-Oct-7th it's likely that about 8% of the entire adult male population of Gaza were Hamas fighters. That number has certainly decreased as Hamas fighters are dying by the thousands. That's very much a good thing.

In the case of Gaza, the actual funding of the war comes less from Gazans themselves, as Gaza doesn't have much of a real economy. Russia is different in that respect as the Russian economy is real (around the same GDP as Spain) and makes a lot of money from exports. The average working Russian is contributing more directly to Russia's invasion of Ukraine than the average Gazan is to Hamas's attempts at genociding Jews.

If Gazans want to survive, the onus is on them to revolt against Hamas, free the hostages, and renounce their genocidal rhetoric towards Jews. They probably will not do that. Israel and the rest of the world should have absolutely no responsibility towards Gazans; it's perfectly ok if they destroy their own economy through this war and mostly starve to death. It is not our obligation to feed every violent, self-destructive, person on this planet.

Similarly, one likely outcome of Russia's attempt at invading Ukraine is the collapse of the Russian economy. If that happens, we could end up with millions of starving Russians if petroleum production in Russia fails. We have zero obligations towards them and it would be perfectly reasonable to allow them to starve in the absence of them making deals in our favor (eg exchanging food for weapons).

oof this is a blood thirsty take...easy big guy

i don't think he's being sarcastic.

How can you say that lightly that anyone working there is a war criminal? How do you define war criminal? Dude, with that criteria anyone paying taxes is a war criminal, including you.

Civilians have a respomsability, to know what os happening around them and push against gov when necessary, but there is a limit to that responsability too

I don't live in a country that is engaging in a large scale, unprovoked, genocidal, illegal, war of invasion. If I did, I would at least try to leave. I certainly wouldn't continue to work in one of the biggest revenue generating export industries and pay taxes.

If you can't distinguish between what Russia is doing right now and what Western countries have done in the past you're hopelessly dumb. Or perhaps, hopelessly contrarian.

Just following your logic, what with those trying to leave? A random worker thinking "ok, I've saved enough to move out my county" and Boom, a bomb fall. What would you say? "Sorry pal, move faster nex time"?

I think you talk because is free, just fiat rethoric. Anyone who thinks through what you propose would at least be hesitant on celebrating someone else's dead.

Don't think for a second you're moral standards are suoerior just for asking "can someone kill the bad guys please"

It's a war. They've had multiple years to leave.

Like it or not, they're making an important material contribution to Russia's war effort. The oil refinery itself is clearly a valid military target. If they don't want to die, the onus is on them to find a way to not be there.

The only thing I see is a man trying to justify killing people extremely unrelated to the conflict, with a simple reason, in a complex world.

You didn't even explicited your criteria for "when is ok to work" and when is "helping the bad guys" 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️ but maybe is easier to disguise our darkest cravings with a moralizing coating rather than thinking through what we propose

with that logic we'd all have to leave the "great USofA". we are funding the starvation and genocide of the children of PALESTINE

Israel is fighting a legitimate war against Hamas, and they're taking measures to allow food aid in. Gazans certainly aren't starving.

Of course, it would be completely legitimate for Israel to blockade Gaza entirely and let them starve. This is a war: Israel has no responsibility to the people inside Gaza. They choose to declare war on Israel, massacring over 1000 civilians in an act of genocide. The obvious consequences of that are on Gaza.

🤦

Minsk treaties skulduggery admitted by Merkle, Hollande, and others. "Nato not one inch east"-James Baker circa 1990. 2014 coup "fuck the EU"-Nuland. Read some history. Get a clue ffs !

...and that's a whole bunch of nonsense...

NATO especially: countries that join NATO don't get invaded. It's no surprise that everyone around Russia wants to join. Equally, it's no surprise that Russia is pissed at countries joining and ruining their plans.

Nato can no supply ukraine with sufficient arms or troops. No 155mm shells, no capwblr air defense, no capable aircraft, no capable tanks, no answer to hypersonic weapons, no jdams. Nato is a MIC money laundering talking shop, thats why countries join. Russia and Ukraine had a peace plan in Turkey signed and on the table in March 2022 and Nato told them to take it off and continue fighting. The west is hopelessly bankrupt. Nato will not survive this excursion.

If the above were true, Ukraine would have already lost. Meanwhile in the real world, Ukraine has driven Russia out of the black sea, and is busy destroying Russia's oil and gas exports with long range drone strikes. Hell, Russians supported by Ukraine are even occupying Russian border towns at the moment.

Nah, man. It’s no nonsense. It’s history

Very superficial and emotional take

Currencies are being inflated worldwide as the primary means of stealing from the populace to fund endless war. Does something fix this? Get on zero!

They say never meet your idols. Well fuck on Peter Todd, your on the wrong side of history here on multiple counts. Other posters are dancing around it but your opinion here is that of an uninformed child.

You sound like an American agent with the usual hubris attached. And like you've never heard of wikileaks or snowden.

“And like you've never heard of wikileaks or snowden.”

😂😂😂

I've met Assange twice. He personally asked me to visit him.

The hardest part about being a contrarian is knowing when not to be...

Employees at a Russian oil refinery are obviously not war criminals…

Being a non-contrarian apparently now means bombing civilians…

not very smart are you

US citizens are directly funding the US invading countries all around the world since decades, with that logic, you are a war criminal.

The double standards and lack of self awareness are astonishing.

Thankful for bitcoin.
