jack wasn’t lying when he said he reads everything. 😂
Let’s build!

No one will ever be happy. Moving on.
Jack is spending a massive amount of his life energy helping adoption of a fair and uncensorable store of value. What more do you want from the guy!?
That's what we are all doing now. Everything in the past had to happen to get us to where we are today.
Or to quote my husky, "Don't be ostracized, get Nostracized."

At least Elon spend a fortune to expose cencorship, Jack made a fortune off censorship. Jack deserve all the scrutiny people throw at him.
What i want from him? To help build uncensorable social network… Oh right he also do this. So just recieve my thanks is only what is on my mind :)
When I couldn’t square Jack’s actions as a person with the actions of the company, I assumed he had effectively lost control over the policy making process. Not sure how or why. I hope someday Jack feels able to tell his story.
Would people have ever known true authoritarian censorship if not for Twitter? Would nostr have ever been created as the solution. Big picture is rare.
As someone that has never been on Twitter I can say it doesn't feel authoritarian to me. Not once have they tried to force me to use it.
hang on!! I've been told that soon I wont own nothing but I'll be happy! So there is that, can't wait! Patience is a virtue 😂
Life usually boils down to those who solve problems and those who critique the problem solvers. PV
Thankful for what you are doing here (re bitcoin and nostr) . Twitter was govt subsidiary.
We will be Jack... we will 🫂

you need to do lightning address setup ⚡️

precisely! luvvvu 💞
you're a good man jack, keep up the good fight for truth
Don't apologize, make it right. That's what jack is doing.
I'm pretty impressed with #[2] ... (But don't let it go to your head, sir! 😉)
I won’t
Hindsight’s always 20/20…comical that the keyboard warriors always pretend to think they would have handled an extremely tough and high stakes situation like that any better
The keyboard warriors are always righteous... you should see my YouTube comments sometimes... on content that isn't at all controversial I still get some trolling/hating/keyboardwarrioring.
What does he need to apologize for? Ppl think that they could have handled the Twitter situation better than him. That's an arrogant way of thinking. None of us know what happened behind closed doors. None of us know the amount of pressure Jack was under. And none of us know the danger he was in. So instead of putting your ripped intellectual, egotistic hats on try to understand that Jack was the best case scenario . He tried his best. So stop it!
If you've ever run a business or nonprofit you know there's always something you could have done better if things didn't turn out right. Firing your best friend, ditching people you think need your help, shutting down endeavors that have no hope, these are all hard things. I can't imagine how difficult it would be with government agents, powerful elitists and other corporate power players fighting for their fiefdoms under your nose while icing over their own incompetence and self interested actions. Jack wasn't playing in the WWF, it was a live-or-die game with everything at stake. Utter the wrong phrase and you're ruined for life. You wouldn't be able to take the pressure.

The notion Jack is a censorious person is absurd. Almost nobody I know in my life has more tolerance for dissent than Jack. People who say these things are nothing more than rageful edgelords. Sorrynotsorry.
I think a lot of people don’t understand how public businesses are structured with different classes of stocks and board of directors.
I think a lot of people just don't understand that having a completely unmoderated platform is an unsustainable business. Which is why Jack came to the conclusion it shouldn't be a business!
And he’s said that and people gloss over it. Protocol vs business. Two completely different entities.
👆 +1
The reason why people can’t move on is because they don’t understand how Jack allowed it to happen. He may not be censorious, but he allowed it. Whether he’s a pushover, a people pleaser, non confrontational, complacent, woke, it doesn’t matter. He allowed it. One of my favorite quotes is “You teach people how to treat you by what you allow, what you stop and what you reinforce.” I personally don’t care about this anymore. However, not all of us have realized that the past can’t be changed and there’s no reason to resurrect the past because it only brings negativity which keeps one in a negative, unconscious loop. Forgive the past, be present and hope for the future. It happened, he seems to have learned from his mistake and it’s time to move on.
I’ve explained this countless times
Don’t waste your time watering the rocks.
Yes, you have. Sadly, too many people identify as victims and unconsciously prefer drama over peace.
I think you were super cool, being so temporal while being yelled at by raging buffoons. 🚀🔥
Plz ignore the haters. Ignorant ppl will stay ignorant with their blinders on.
Where have you explained it? Is it on substack somewhere? The situation was so bad during covid and during the last few political cycles, I'd like to understand better what happened.
People, pick up a simple corporate finance book and look at a publicly traded firm’s structure in a capitalistic society: boards, shareholders (maximize wealth), and conflicts of interest with other stakeholders. Jack had to work within this dysfunctional framework.
The discovery of Twitter was an important stepping stone to the discovery of Nostr. Things evolve. Thanks to @jack and others. End of story.
"He allowed it". No. He tried to balance the interests of running a business that was dependent on advertising for revenue, creating an environment where people would actually engage with the platform, rather than being harassed and dogpiled, and a bunch of poorly-adjusted edgelords flipped the table over their rights to be total assholes. And yes, mistakes were made. And in the end, Jack came to believe this just wasn't something a company should be responsible for. That's it. That's the whole story.
Agree Mike. Jack has explained this so many times (more than he should’ve imo) and anyone who wanted to understand would’ve by now. They need to find another topic to shitpost about.
Cypherpunks don't complain, they build stuff
In my personal experience, I’ve met many men who are censorious and @jack isn’t one of them, have you seen what I post about me and him lol. If he was censorious, how did I do this?
Also, I've come to believe that a lot of these free speech warriors are very selective in what they consider free speech. When they have power, their "free speech absolutism" takes on a much more ... dynamic definition. See: Elon. See: Truth Social.
