Please do not revoke my geek badge, but I never watched any of the Stargate series or movie. I am currently working on resolving this issue.

At one point, there were even a couple of Stargate novels. Now that you've sparked that memory, I'll have to see if digital copies exist as I'd love to read those again.
Are you enjoying your cheesy sci-fi? It's not all good, but there are some great episodes and story arcs I remember.
Yaaaas...it's shitty cheesy 90s sci-fi and I LOVE it so far.
wow
I have a lot of catching up to do.
No worries nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 . I saw the movie.. got bored after the few seasons of SG-1. Now Battlestar Galactica reboot was π₯
Iβve never seen a Matrix movie.
Yup
Waaaaaat? While I work on fixing my Stargate problem you should consider fixing your Matrix issue π¬
Not really into science fiction actually. Like Iβve never watched a Star Trek series
You might appreciate Star Trek Next Generation.
Very human/philosophy based.
Has an ongoing story that develops, as well.
Captain JLP quickly becomes one of your heroes.
Strange New Worlds is also fantastic, IMO.
Havenβt seen any yet, but will give it a watch.
I am really in to GOT
GoT was great. I was disappointed with Season 7 and 8 though.
I was disappointed with the Winds of Winter. Such a short book.
Have you seen House of Dragons? I like it so far. Interview with the Vampire series was amazing.
Space socialism. But with good acting and compelling characters. Infinitely memable.
The first season is rough. Season 2 has a few glimmers of what was to come. The episodes "Measure of a Man" and "Elementary, Dear Data" immediately come to mind. Season 3 onward are great. Picard season 3 is basically season 8, and is also a great story to end off TNG.
This should be fixed. Fast.
Lucky you! Getting to watch for the first time.
Some say itβs based on true eventsβ¦

SHAME!! One of my go to shows for when I want to yarn and tv.
I was more of a Battlestar Galactica fan π₯Ή But I'm loving Stargate thus far!
We started that but never finished, thank you for the reminder βΊοΈ
I LOVE watching stuff while crocheting π₯Ή or while arting in general
Especially works if Iβve seen it before π
What are some other faves for this purpose?
Star Trek TNG or DS9, Gilmore Girls, recently remembered Buffy existed so that'll be one. Pretty much anything that has tons of episodes. What are yours?
Omg these are fantastic choices π
I had been doing this with Buffy for a while but idk why I stopped.
This is partly what I did with the Treks and Stargate, for sure.
Casa de Papel was one. I actually did a lot of watercolor stuff with this one, too. (And I know where they areβ¦ maybe I should post some old art π€)
Iβll try to think, itβs been a while since I did it this way. Nowadays I usually only crochet in the car whenever Iβm not driving.
Buffy fans unite!! I'm a car crocheter, too. I've gotten to where reading patterns in the car no longer makes me car sick π .
Don't feel bad, I think I I saw part of the first movie and that's it.
My wife grew up never watching any sci-fi and had no interest . I introduced her to the Stargate series because I knew she would love the characters. She now loves and watches all kinds of sci-fi.
My wife doesn't really like sci-fi at all π₯Ή
Me neither. I even worked at the movie theater when the movie came out and never actually watched it.
The original movie was awesome!
Vibe comparisons for the shows:
Stargate SG-1 is kinda like Star Trek Next Generation, I think. Never watched a lot of it (unlike Trek TNG which Iβve seen most episodes at least twice)
Stargate Atlantis is kinda like Star Trek Voyager. Really enjoyed this one, would watch again.
Stargate Universe is like nuevo Battlestar Galactica. It was all right but I mostly enjoyed BSG more.
The original Stargate movie was straight metal. Iβd watch that one again in a second. I missed out on almost everything else except TNG, DS9 and Voyager though
Well those are some fantastic shows π
Some people havenβt even seen those! Iβve been slowly going through Trek starting with TNG with nostr:npub1jrx2fk666k5nt8vgak9xwyxlgcwh8fl9rvpwvvcpdthuqkcnptrqdfhtaq whenever weβre not watching other things because he really hadnβt seen any.
He was a Star Wars maxi but doesnβt seem to hate Trek yet π
I memorized the Lt. Commander Data code when he used Captain Picardβs voice to lockout the bridge back when I was in middle school.
I recorded it on a cassette tape from the tv and I can still repeat it.

Bruh.
ha! can't get that geek purple belt without addressing this.
stargate and stargate sg1 for good measure
I have not and do not plan on it.
I'll have to admit I've never made it through a full Star Trek Film.
Worth trying again? If so, which should I start?

You'll get there. Everyone does eventually ;)
Get someone to tell you when to start watching Stargate Atlantis too when you start SG-1. Loved me the cross-over eps.
I found a wiki that had the watch order. Though I didn't watch Origins yet.
Stargate (1994 film)
Stargate Origins
Stargate: SG-1 (Seasons 1-7)
Stargate: SG-1 (Seasons 8-10) and Stargate: Atlantis (Seasons 1-3)
Stargate: The Ark of Truth
Stargate: Continuum
Stargate: Atlantis (Seasons 4-5)
Stargate: Universe
I only watched the movie, SG-1, and my favorite was Universe. But sadly only ran one season and ended on a cliffhanger
Ah cool!
Don't think I've seen Origins yet myself actually.. I watched about 2/3rd of Universe but the studios not carrying it onto a 2nd season really made hesitate in wanting to watch it all π
This might help I hope!
