It’s amazing how many people know that money is broken but haven’t connected the dots to #Bitcoin….yet.
On a much smaller scale, almost as amazing as how many people understand #Bitcoin, yet fail to understand #nostr.
A real life simulation of how easy it is to reinforce what we don’t want with our actions/incentives….that gives clues to timing of the phase transition that is underway.
Good things take time.

With regards to moving to nostr, I think some are hanging on on because it’s a hassle to start afresh
Many, I believe, will move when the platforms truly get compromised 
Gradually then suddenly, like waiting till the last minute before meeting a deadline.
I think necessity precipitates adoption. So far imo a lot of people use and understand Bitcoin given that it’s a grassroots open source monetary innovation that has to supplant mandated fiat systems - systems that denounce it continually. Many events have pushed all sorts of people to find and utilize bitcoin and to me it’s off to a really good start.
Nostr will have its moments. This protocol would’ve see parabolic adoption during Covid with all of the censorship and de-platforming. I have no doubt similar things will happen in the future and nostr will be a freedom tool waiting for all comers, just like bitcoin.
I must admit, I’m one of those that absolutely gets why Bitcoin and tries hard to help educate friends and family. However, I need to do more work on understanding Nostr.
I feel like it’s a decentralised value share platform, where the users benefit directly from sharing useful content that the community appreciates. I suspect it’s even more than that though and it just hasn’t clicked yet. 🤔
I guess it also shows that any entrepreneur in the world can build tools for the benefit of society without the need for VCs or having to support the centralised fiat system for that matter. 🤔
Yeah I am the same, just curious about how the mind work sometimes .You explain about BTC and why the old system doesn't work. And many people can't belive it is that bad. And then the pain is real from the imflation and yet it is going to be alright 😜 Nostr is very new to me so still need to figure out the structor better to find what I am looking for. But it can only be a win win getting the news from all over the word instead of "3" platforms twitter etc and no algorithm that enforce one topic like hate etc.
Reading this now I understand what you mean. Had you ask me this five years ago I wouldn’t be bothered as the most people now. I hope that every individual has a ‘breaking point’ like I did.
Both protocols remove rent seeking middle men…… value exchange between two entities. Both revolutionary, Bitcoin has a 13 year head start.

They are not yet easy transitions to do. There is still both a technological barrier and the need to invest time to learn it. But things are changing very very fast. While as a 2017 generation bitcoiner took me almost 3 years (from 2014) to get deep down the Bitcoin rabbit-hole and buy the first BTC, the new generation will make the transition much much faster. They will not even need to get into the rabbit-hole at all. Nostr adoption will increase Bitcoin adoption. Young generation will start using Nostr and as a consequence, without even realizing it, they will use Sats to zap. Bitcoin will be “native” for them without even knowing what Bitcoin is. Bitcoin adoption will increase exponentially thanks to protocols like Nostr and dozens of apps which will make the transition seamless. Forget the rabbit-hole we dived in, forget learning what money is, forget Austrian Economics, young people will use Lightning and Bitcoin like we use today the mobile phone. They would not care to know what is behind the client screen...so far it works seamlessly.
New tenants in a furnished rental, traveling for work (night shifts at $22/hr plus $100 per diem). Blue collar guys with borderline credit. One of them knows he can’t just hold dollars so he’s trading currencies. He asked me if I trade, I say I just collect Bitcoin. He says, “You excited for the halving, coming up in March or April, right?”.
Probably more knowledgeable than 80% of the population.
When I talk inflation the response tends to be that deflation is WORSE. 🤷 Not sure how to respond to that.
Deflation is bad from a debt based system with nothing backing it but debt. Acknowledge it and then ask why we live in that system. Who wins, who loses? Then ask why deflation would be bad from a sound money system like Bitcoin.
It is the transition from one system to another that we are all living through.

I like the idea that with nostr, the delicate and human parts of the network are kept on the human side. Not horded inside a central vault where access can be gated by whatever criteria the owner(s) choose.
I guess those not exploring Bitcoin & LN don't care what they're missing. They don't care about the tyranny because it hasn't visited their front door yet. They're still in the Matrix. But I think more and more are seeing liberty light shining up ahead.
I think each individual has to take it upon himself to ask the place you're in accepts Bitcoin or LN? It has to become commonplace to hear these words spoken.
I find this so hard to fathom… anyone that understands Bitcoin’s value beyond NGU surely must be able to make the tiny mental leap to Nostr.
It’s like watching your friend load a gun and shoot a menacing bear but then not connecting the dots between the bullet, gun and in coming bear all layer out in front of you.
Anyone that can’t connect those dots surely hasn’t survived this far… or maybe it’s evidence of devolution.
The issue that you are pricing bitcoin too early and adoption will only come when pain increases and action is required which in my mind is far away

I started to learn about #bitcoin when I was looking for pages to create a donation profile for my mother. Then I started to follow bitcoiners on twitter to learn more about bitcoin, and there someone mentioned nostr, that’s how arrived here.
