I've been saving like crazy. I did start a web dev firm and I'm putting some energy towards building that freelance business. But it's not self-sustaining yet.
This plan has been in the works for a couple years. And it was still so hard to pull the trigger. I went back and forth with myself for nearly 6 months before finally taking the plunge.

No need for school, you can start learning html and JavaScript for free in freecodecamp and with YouTube channels like fireship, and keep learning a bit every day. If you like logic puzzles you will probably enjoy the computer side aspect more, if you prefer the artistic part, you will end up enjoying more the user interface part.
