My amendments to the constitution:

- Every regular law expires in 10 years.

- Congress must vote in each law/bill individually.

- Budget of each agency is voted separately.

- Maximum length of any bill is 10 pages.

- Bills must be presented in their final form 2 weeks before the vote.

- Maximum bills voted per day is 10.

for non-us plebs

what's the current status for contrast?

Law's definitely done expire.

A lot of shit gets passed without proper voting. (Executive orders and other nonsense.)

Bills are sneaky as shit and will be several hundred pages long and sneak stuff in that's completely unrelated to current proposal.

yeah, but that last part has always been the game

they use so fuckywucky lingo, that barely anybody understands and notices when things get voted through

Yeah, that's true.

First we need to understand how the Constitution of the Republic has been subverted, and we all have been unwittingly complying to all these nonsensical statutes that do not apply to us. Once we understand that, no amendments are needed.

It was subverted by design.

That's why its creators kept the notes and minutes of that rubbish convention secret for more than 30 YEARS, until they were all dead or long retired! Even Madison did!

They knew they created the illegitimate monstrosity it proved to be, and feared personal reprisals, as all statists, tyrants and looters do.

Something that began as an organised crime with the Independence Declaration, cannot magically morph into "the greatest system of government ever devised"!😄

And that was clear to honest American barristers, like Spooner, not even a 100 years after that fraudulent "constitution" was foisted on your ancestors:

Me likely

For every year served in goobewnt a year of prison follows.

Gooberment*

I like those updates

Maybe budget deficits not allowed as well

How about maximum per week is 1, and how about we abolish compulsory taxation and reassert the fucking bill of rights? Including the two goddamn amendments that weren't originally included in it. And abolish compulsory monopolies on forms of payment and patents. And recognize the right to fucking leave.

Dis mf spittin

Is this yay or gay

Open source government for exactly this

- all pieces of legislation must be campaigned upon, if you didn’t tell the electorate about it before you were elected you don’t get to present it for a vote

- all pieces of legislation must have KPIs to measure whether they have been successful or not

- emergency legislation expires 100 days after the next election where a referendum must be held on whether to keep it (subject to all the other provisions) or let it expire

for every new law, 2 must be removed

We could always finish ratifying the original first amendment - the only one George Washington vocally supported. It would go a long way to fix a lot of things.

Laws expiring is the cherry on top

The US Constitution is designed to centralize power in the federal government taking it away from the states.

The first charter for the US federal government was the Articles of Confederation and it created a much more severely limited government.

The first ten amendments, aka the bill of rights, were a compromise from the big government pro constitution group to get more of the small government people to switch sides.

They should have stuck to their principles and kept the articles of confederation.

All of this has somehow gone missing from most American history books. I'll let the reader decide if that was intentional.

- mandatory prison time adds +2yrs for each doubling of their wealth since before they took office. Both for them and their spouse.

- Bombings, attacks, or wars must be voted by congress members

Vitor for President

10 pages is just preamble + motivation. But I like where you're going.

Expiring provisions is actually **super underrated**. In the US, only bills that use the "senate reconciliation" procedure are expiring IIRC

well, would already be nice to see the current constitution/bill being in power.

yet, its just on stuff written on paper, and over the years it got massively diluted.

No x 6

Why would they suddenly follow the law though? They violate the constitution every second of every day. A few more amendments aint changing that.

Quite right!

That's why what that Quash barrister says makes the most sense for your system - changing it through state referendums, without the preposterous amendment circus.

If most Americans truly cared about freedom, Legalman would have a few hundred million viewd per episode. For me, he as well as Mark Passio, are the only two with any significant audience that truly getnit

Who is they? I am sure it is not most representatives. And those who want better representatives. Step forward and try to get there to show better 😉

When all are terrible it will be easy to be better.

"Maximum bills voted per day is 10." I like the tens - and limits here, but this seems high still. I wonder how many are averaged per day at present.

Insbesondere das Verfallsdatum für Gesetze halte ich für eines der wichtigsten "Upgrades" für bestehende Demokratien. Ohne verwandeln sie sich zunehmend in Diktaturen.
