What do you eat in India when you have a fever or a weak throat or stomach?

Depends on the region...

My North Indian friends used to have dal khichdi (it's rice + lentils) whenever they have fever/cold

I prefer to have hot rasam + rice.

(Rasam is a spicy thin soup, that is made with pepper and tamarind. The pepper taste feels so good in the throat)

WOW!!

Both look very tasty 🤤.

I'm going to try the rasam as I think I can make it in Japan!

(I know a little bit about the pepper feeling good in my throat).

Thanks for letting me know!

Awesome 😁

Dal khichdi is easier to make as it has fewer ingredients & rasam is a bit complex to get the proportions right.

I was searching if anyone made a rasam tutorial in Japanese but couldn't find any 😔 I hope it turns out good!

I found a recipe that substituted lemon for tamarind,I'll give this a try 🫡.

Looking forward to it.

Apologies for delayed reply... Work meeting.

What does Roro-san have during fever? Miso soup?

I am so sorry for interrupting your work 🙏

I didn't have the energy to eat miso soup.

I was eating Okayu and udon.

Okayu is a rice porridge, often called "Sick Food" because it is warm, easy to digest and full of liquid.

Just looking at okayu makes me feel so warm & cosy 😁

In South India, we have similar rice porridge, but it's fermented overnight & has with raw onion & chilli (supposed to be good energy source).

U~~~~~~😭🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️

Fermentation!

I understand that it is a sour and spicy dish.

It looks like an energizing dish💪💪
