What's your relays list like?
Just a few client's ones and one paid? 15 most popular ones?
What is the most optimal setup?
⚡ Each comment with an answer gets a zap-test! ⚡

PS Do you run your own relays?

On 13 now, a mix of free and paid

wss://relay.current.FYI didn't get in the screenshot 🤷 having some error now also
5 paid relays
15 popular/community relays
wss://relay.nostr.band is stable
Whatever Amethyst gave me, since I can't seemto change it.
#NotYourRelay using 45 relay. 5 dead.
10 most popular free, 2 paid. One paid is mine nostrsatva.net
Paid nostr.land family and a few with nice names for me 🐝 I’m working on a node first then a relay if I can get my head around it all 🤯
I will look but i find the paud relay info not clear ?
You start nostr , you see a list of relays, you know some are paid, you dont see well where and how

I've paid for greensoul.space I highly recommend! Most others thay I use are free, that I know of...

11 relays, 3 of them paid, 1 controlled by my trusted bitcoin community, 7 free and well known for different reasons.
Using popular free relays. Maybe one day I will run my own, or use a paid relay.
Can’t remember what podcast I was listening too but the expert was saying about 7-9 with a few quality paid relays. Too few and you don’t see enough content, too many and it’s slow and lags.
Some free, some paid, and my list continually evolves as relays come and go. Also I use a couple of “utility” relays (for lack of a better term), such as the purple pages relay for user contact info, and blastr for broadcasting out.
I use 2 paid, and the rest are free and open. 🤙🏻
18 relays, 3 of which are paid

I like simplicity, just 4 relays, 2 for reading (one paid and one free) 1 for research and 1 blastr. It is working well in addition to saving battery and bandwidth. 🤙
Build your own relay step by step without relying on anyone:
https://v2.minibolt.info/bonus-guides/bitcoin/nostr-relay
Connect to your new and personal nostr relay and broadcast your previous events to it using https://nostryfied.amethyst.social/, and follow the steps outlined in https://v2.minibolt.info/bonus-guides/bitcoin/nostr-relay#broadcast-the-past-events-to-your-new-relay-optional
Select the relays to connect to based on the relays obtained through Nosy at https://nosy.tigerville.no/. Aim for a balance between 'Followers' and 'Follows' results, **and avoid choosing them solely based on their popularity or prestige if they do not align with the ones selected by your network of contacts.**
Looks like I'm using 12 relays. 3 of those are paid, 1 is private. I used whatever the defaults are in Amethyst, paid for ones I see certain people on, and fired up a private one just to learn how.

15 that I randomly grabbed the first day when I setup nostr as a newbie. Any reason to revisit and update or change anything?
I’ve been curating them to find the sweet spot, usually around 18-20 in total. I favor paid to unpaid relays, and definitely don’t wade naked into global. Also, it helps to remember that relays are mostly someone’s personal labor of love and they are worth contributing to, even the free ones. Get to know your relay operators. 🫂
Also, I run an Umbrel personal relay. I’m probably not ready to run a public one yet, but never say never.
9/9 do the work also working on a private relay and cross info with other relays

A mix if paid and free. mostr.pub for the fediverse link and a personal one for backup.

We have a bunch of random ones😂
one paid, 8 top random, plus my own that only works about half the time. I will get that last one straightened out eventually.
Free and default. Didn't know there were paid ones?
