I think it's turning into a Radiohead Kid A or Amnesia day. These remixes on Nostr Nests right now are sick nostr:npub13pnmakf738yn6rv2ex9jgs7924renmderyp5d9rtztsr7ymxg3gqej06vw . Why not listen to both? Radiohead released an album 2 years ago which is just those two incredible albums together in one discography along with a bunch of unreleased B-sides. Radiohead B-sides used to be some of my favorite songs back in the day.

For my next #grownostr segment, let's discuss my love for music.

I spent a decade of my life overly obsessed with Radiohead and Sigur Ros. I really identified with their music and their music helped me get through some rough patches in my life when it seemed like women were breaking my heart left and right.

After my Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Muse, and Dredg phase, I moved onto the punk genre. Punk, ska, screamo, emo, pop-punk, you name it. From Blink 182, to Millencolin, to No Use for a Name, to The Offspring, to Me First and the Gimme Gimmies, and so many more. If it was a punkish band in the early 2000's, it was my jam.

Eventually, I started to listen to more EDM and that's where I've been for the past decade or more. I can't say I have a favorite EDM artist as there are so many remixes and random tracks that I come across from various portions of the Internet. If has a good beat and sick drops, count me in.

The only thing I really don't like is country or rap. If the mood hits right, you may find me getting really into a rap song from the 90's or early 2000, but beyond that, that genre just isn't for me. I know even less about country music. I kind of hate it... Johnny Cash is alright though.

I'm always listening to music though. If I'm doing yard work or fiat mining, there's always music playing. 🎧

If you had to pick one out of Kid A, Amnesiac, or Ok Computer, which one would it be?

Jesus Christ talk about an impossible decision. I love them all for different reasons and Amnesiac and Kid A are so damn close, but I'd have to say Amnesiac. That said, the previously unreleased/B-side of most of the Amnesiac songs are my favorite versions of those songs such as Like Spinning Plates (live) and an earlier version of Motion Picture Soundtrack. Ahhhhh! Yes. Kid A would be my choice.

It is an impossible choice. How about Morning Bell? Amnesiac version or Kid A version?

Wow. Everything is an impossible choice. I can't do it. Though, my favorite version of Fog is from the Com Lag 2+2=5 EP.

Kid A for me. You guys ever listen to Radiodread? That’s my go to when my wife complains that she wants something besides Radiohead on road trips 😂

No I have not. I used to drive Katie crazy listening to the Vitamin String Quartet Strung Out on OK Computer album. I would sing them all since there are no vocals 😉

Let me know what you think. They do a solid Pink Floyd cover called “Dub Side of the Moon” too. I’ll take a listen to Strung Out 🤙

Wow, I haven’t heard this before. Really interesting reggae take on the songs

I saw Radiohead at ULU student union bar when they were promoting pablo honey

They are fantastic live! Not sure how the shows were back in the Pablo Honey days, but their early 2000s shows in the US were something else

Very good, sadly a friend lost his life working for them in 2012 and their stuff reminds me of that now

I have never seen Radiohead. I always wanted to. I thought it would be like a religious experience. I can happily say that I saw Sigur Ros though back in 2000.

Radiohead are very good

Live. Johnny’s guitar stuff is superb

Oh wow. That album is very grunge feeling, a bit more guitar heavy. I like it, but not the same way I like their other albums. I think Anyone Can Play Guitar is my favorite song from that album.

The Bends is a superb album

We should have a Nostrich music live chat one day

Love to chat, spent my whole life in music.

I remember being entranced by the video for Street Spirit when seeing it on tv for the first time back in the 90s.

I too now listen to more EDM than anything else, but I find it really hard to find things I like, unlike most other genres. Not sure why that is.

too many things in EDM sound the same, IMO. i have no clue who im listening to, i just know that i like it 😆

Sigur Ros. Impressive. Didn’t know try where a thing across the sea.

They are basically my islandic brothers. Spend a lot of time listening to them like 15 years ago. And been to some amazing concerts with them here in Denmark.

OMG YES! I love Sigur Ros! Jonsi is amazing. I saw them in concert back in 2000. It was wild. Listening and watching Jonsi strum his guitar with a cello bow while screaming into it. Wild. My old college friend was from Iceland and he knew the drummer, Orri.

The music is so wild.

If you ever get the chance to do a road trip around Iceland you totally get to feel of why their music is they way it is.

We had a couple of danish bands that people (my self included) that listened to Sigur Ros also listened to. Kashmir and Mew.

This song on a good pair of headphones with the volume up…

or at Roskilde Festival with 70.000 other people in the middle of the night and blue lights all over the place.🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼

Thanks for the Kid A Mnesia suggestion! Listening to it now 💜

It's a great compilation of their two best albums (imo) along with a bunch of great b-sides. Enjoy.

Kid A is still haunting to me. Such a beautiful yet tormented album. Underrated as far as influencing future EDM music too.

Listening to EDM today is what prompted this note! 🫂

I actually heard this remix of Kendrick Lamar’s, anti-2020 song, “N95” and Radiohead’s “Everything In It’s Right Place” while in Miami. The type of beautiful juxtaposition between genres, lyrics and times that music is so good at providing. cc #[5]

Election interference can't stop him this time.

Tic-toc thousands of arrests are coming. Help is on the way. 😄😂🤣

/Sarcasm

Kendrick is so amazingly talented…hot too 😽

who has amnesia?

Sharing vibes via music is so powerful. It’s a great way to communicate. This is what I aim to do here. Also, I can’t wait to write on why I love what I share.
