Do people actually like Reddit style threads? Damus threads could definitely be better but I’m not sure of expanding and collapsing. Changes the entire experience.

You know I do 😂🙏

I definitely like proper threading. Coracle threads look amazing.

Not a fan of the Reddit experience.

I really like them, but it's important that I can fold/collapse them also

It’s good as it is. No need to add that collapse thread feature. What will be nice is to have zap setup for splits

I’m a big fan of the way Apollo does Reddit threads.

#[2] above note I forgot to put @. Is this still required in TestFlight builds?

It just makes navigation easier. If one of the top level replies is about something you're not interested in, like a joke about the OP, and you want to find the actual discussion, you can collapse the joke thread and all the replies quickly rather than having to scroll past them.

It's not really a problem on nostr yet, but on Reddit most threads devolve very quickly into stupid jokes, even if it started out serious.

I personally love being able to quickly skip to the next discussion/rebuttal to an original Reddit comment. Hate when I have to scroll and scroll and scroll to get to the next immediate reply to the OP thread

Yes this! It’s not just about collapsing entire threads but specific levels of the thread! Very hard to do without some kind of collapsing

Not just about skipping* entire threads

Personally no. One thing I hate the most about Reddit is when you’re scrolling and a thread accidentally collapsed because it thinks I clicked it.

The thing I feel like Reddit is thread driven, but nostr is not as much. Until it becomes a lot more like a forums, I feel like this is not that important.

This sounds like a problem with how the app is coded? Never seen this happen with Apollo

Collapsing threads is so much easier to navigate, yes.

I want to see all the things!

Reddit threads are always have disappearing posts for some reason.

idk the right solution but something to deal with very popular reposts taking over the feed, specially when I already follow the account being reposted

I find the Reddit style collapsing a bit clunky, but overall helpful to sort through really long comment threads

For iPad, I like the 2nd pane they implemented in Nostrum

Real handy when browsing comments.

Damus thread view works once you load the last message. Finding that last message is sometimes harder than it seems.

I have written “message” instead of “note” and will now go nap in shame 🤣

I wouldn't mix both formats

Depends on context a lot. Sometimes you want to navigate lots of replies. Other times just a few DAGs that interest you. I prefer Reddit style for computer screens.

The expanding and collapsing Reddit style threads stresses me out lol don’t know why 😅. But i know a lot love it

I like them because the most relevant information is at the top. It's an efficient way of ingesting information quickly.

I find the Twitter threads make for a very easy experience. Especially being able to filter on most popular (zaps), most recent, most controversial (most replies)

I find Reddit to be unreadable.

How easy is it to white label the Damus client and just roll variations out. People can use the client that fits the view they desire.

Yes! At least to a certain depth. I really liked that about Astral.ninja and Alphaama (I think).

Personally, my favorite user interface
