Govt blaming inflation on “supply chains,” “greed!,” & the myriad other excuses, is like blaming an overflowing pool on the moon phases, too many kids in the water, & low air pressure… while standing next to a dump truck unloading 10,000 gallons into the pool.

it’s the classic abusive relationship game plan - gaslighting

Droughts, trucker strike, Taylor Swift, our fault for buying stuff….

They must think we are all pretty stupid.. What an insult.

Reading Larry White’s book: Better Money. The charts below shows the spike in CPI when the UK/US went effectively off the gold standard during WW1. The US officially did not go off the gold standard but they made it really hard to redeem.

Nice use of the water/pool analogy.

Brilliance comes in many forms, this is one of them.

Many people I know working in TradFi were convinced this would be a short post-covid supply chain issue and that inflation would go negative to compensate when supply chains normalised. I mentioned this was unlikely with the money printing etc. and was pooh poohed regularly in meetings, laughed at etc.. It's hard to over emphasise the amount of blinkered groupthink in TradFi.

Hey we need that water for our ASICS

thought the Bidenomics gave us the best economy there ever has been. then why are they blaming supply side producers?!

The gaslighting will continue until the guillotines are brought back.
