Sorry. Missed this response initially.
That's great. Essentially that's how my encounter with Medicine Man went. It wound up driving me to research, interpret, diagnose, hypothesize, and use my developed skillset of trying to look at things from the perspective of others. This was a skill I developed when I was teaching math and critical thinking and it turned out to be a way of living the Golden Rule.
Yeah, Bentov was super key in my opinion. Dr. Lee Sannella MD was one of Bentov's collaborators. Bentov wrote an appendix in Sannella's book called "Kundalini: Psychosis or Transcendence". Seems like something that should definitely be on both your and your doctor's radar.

As for what can disrupt the magnetic aura, I think this is the mechanism by which astrology works on us. I also think this is the mechanism by which traditional stone medicine works, i.e. crystal/mineral healing. The atomic electrons oscillating produce a subtle magnetic signature that falls within the interactive bandwidth of at least one of the magnetic bodies that composes the aura: the one tethered to the motion of the electrons of the atoms of our own bodies would seem to be the most appropriate of the magnetic bodies of the aura to interact with celestial bodies and local minerals/crystals.
Also other people. What food you ate. I imagine radiation. The Medicine Man who gave me my name reads auras to diagnose health issues and prescribe herbal remedies so there must be a bunch of nuance to the aura. It seems to be impacted by our physical health, not just our spiritual and mental health. It seems that biophoton emission and mitotic radiation are some big science words that are likely related to "the health aura".
I think neural oscillation patterns could impact the aura which means meditation, sensory deprivation, psychedelics, etc. could induce auric shifts. Emotions for sure. Imbalance in self love. Imbalance in social relationships.
In Bentov's appendix of StWP, he points out in other words that transcranial magnetic stimulation of 4 or 7 Hz can induce spontaneous physio kundalini experiences in people.
Bentov captured it nicely, I think, with respect to the "cracked" on the other side folks. He said that spiritually evolved people who are unable to rectify their "new reality" with their "everyday reality" would wind up "cracked" but the ones who are able to integrate those two realities are the so called geniuses like Newton, Faraday, Einstein, etc.
I went almost 53 months without knowing what I had experienced. Since then I've been making up for lost time. I would be more than happy to collab. That's one of the main goals of the weekly study groups. They're on Clubhouse on Sundays at 12 noon eastern US time. They are recorded and I am planning to release them as podcasts in the not too distant future once some other moves are completed. Plans are underway for website, podcast, and then I'm going to HAM on writing, presumably, my first book of multiple books. Thing is I have limited time as do we all, which is why gathering with fellow seekers periodically is a great hack for making rapid progress as a team.
Eventually I'll probably pivot from Clubhouse to something different but for now it's there. If that doesn't fly for you, we can try to arrange something else. Let me know.
