That is because they are delegating the responsibility of understanding the idea to the person they are getting the idea from. No one can be an expert in all things, but we often play the telephone game with understanding concepts. We may not “need” it but we Need it. Speaking as one who never asked for it and was not conscious of needing it. Being cold is not living up to our potential. Got to circulate the warmth to make it grow and if it only flows one direction it slows down.

There is a way to say they happened objectively: direct perception. Unfortunately most of us are still a long ways away from the ability to make that perception. It’s inspiring enough having the perceptions I am already having on the path.
PS True faith is that perception only partially conscious.
I’m fascinated by your expression of self healing. It’s so very different than mine in the way I perceive and practice it. However there are definite similarities and what you call trauma I generally only perceive as energetic imbalances. Then I have to go through a process of perceiving their qualities and then applying the energetic remedies.
I’ve experienced everything you said about the range of intensity of release not being tied to the “size” of the issue being fixed. Maybe when I get my receptive side more opened up I’ll have more color in my process.

I could rip apart your “familiar with well over a dozen” but I don’t. I could tell you what you have wrong with many many things and I don’t. Have I even once personally attacked you? You attack me nearly every time we interact. You also don’t seem to get that reading a dozen books about blacksmithing without ever picking up a hammer does not make you a master smith. There are bug eating illiterates in Africa that make both of us look like we know nothing about spiritual topics. I don’t know how I can avoid being a yes man and interact with peacefully.

You are assuming a materialistic explanation for the origin. I am not. The spiritual side is not only relevant but the more important side as I am concerned. You do not have to agree.
That’s because I’m not using a probability model of how holidays came to be. I’m simply stating that there is higher spiritual significance to those days. Direct interaction between people and higher beings is a key factor in those holidays. Materialistic speculation on how they came to be is not of interest to me. It very well may be important in understanding the current form. I’m more interested in bringing greater coherence with the higher aspects of those days.
If you want to join in the debate with the historians on the material side, go for it. I personally will continue my work in greater communication with those higher beings and bringing that side to light.
I’m simply sharing there is more to it than material considerations. The holidays weren’t selected to have convenient days to plant or plan. My perceptions are still very limited, but even I can detect differences in consciousness depending on time of year. Holidays were set up by mystics understanding of cycles and forces not city planners. They were a time to share mystery dramas, do ritual magic, and interact with higher worlds in a way less accessible on other days.
You didn’t call on anyone to change their traditions. However I am calling on those who know or are learning, to modify their expressions of those holidays as they learn. I’ve got a lot of planning to do to get ready for the 12 holy nights. January 6 (Joan of Arc birthday) is a pretty special day for initiation. I don’t see mass meditation being practiced that day.
So I plan to focus on the reclamation of important days rather than why they got messed up. Hopefully next fall equinox I can do more than meditate in the park for a couple hours. The popular celebration is pumpkin spice latte at a carnival or pumpkin patch. We can do better.
There is deep significance to those times of year. Why the holidays were celebrated as they were and when, was not arbitrary or merely pragmatic in a material sense. Why the holidays changed and how, needs that knowledge to be fully understood. Certainly there are aspects that should be changed about them now, but going back isn’t the answer.

It can indicate that a person is karmically in a position to receive. It can indicate that the person is going to unconsciously contribute to the effect themselves. Belief is not a required component for Reiki.

2.) I don’t know what to say about your family member. I took my first Reiki class less than 2 years ago. I don’t know if they are coping for not being proficient or what. You do not have to believe in it to work. I was taught, and karmically it’s better, to ask for the recipients permission. I’ve not seen that even suggested in any of the handful of healing systems I’ve learned about.
3.) At the time of my taking that class I had not ever experienced anything I knew to be “supernatural”. I now have a conceptual model that has many forces beyond the physical plane but nothing supernatural. So now I daily do energy healing and exploration of nonphysical phenomena. From checking which food is the most strengthening to doing Fung Shue by directly perceiving those elements and balancing them. Mostly still needing the pendulum like a magnifying glass as the perceptions are mostly quite feint.

I recently made a similar decision. There are initiations that link you to specific higher beings and groups on a karmic level. Instead of focusing on completing the initiation into the stream that is my primary source of information I intend to find/join a different one. The feminine focused streams have been suppressed/attacked for a very long time. So not only is there a need for numbers, but being more developed on the masculine side I can provide a clarity of understanding not common with them. Also it’s been quite exciting developing the lower chakras and my intuitive ability. Life is so much more colorful now.
What about when we lack enthusiasm? Or maybe it’s more the initiative that’s lacking…
She is the founder of the Theosophical Society. So very important person in the bringing of esoteric knowledge to the masses of the West. Even after the split from the Theosophical Society, Steiner still made a point to publicly celebrate her contributions on her birthday. So not the latest and fullest of teachings but a very important person in getting the ball rolling for wider access to this kind of knowledge.
