I enjoy zerohedge but holy cow it dominates my feed when I follow it here.

#[1] same problem. I want to follow you back, but holy cow đź’€ I only see GIFs if I do.

Same for me, honestly
Ya same here, a function in client to 'quiet' certain npubs ( ideally with a timer) would be nice if say you were wanting to not consume a ton of news and wanted to focus on other people you follow.
More generally it would be nice to have some client-side algorithm...
funny on mastodon I see zero zerohedges
yup; unfollowed for that reason..
Yeah, I blocked ZH on nostr, and just look at the real website once a day after market closes.
Would be great if there was a npub that just reposted the most engaged ZH note from every hour
Yep, unfollowed. We need client side algorithms to deal with that
The "algo" is sometimes good in showing you things that might be more relevant to you during an age of information overload. In the case of Nostr all such visibility decisions needs to somehow happen entirely client side. It's not a simple problem. The various Nostr clients are already handling this in very different ways.
Make a curated version of the account and charge money?
I need a feed of just your money-making ideas, Jimmy
Is that a real account or just some rando posting all the articles?
Any intel on that #[4] ?
He wrote the article on ZeroHedge about Nostr:
https://www.zerohedge.com/technology/how-nostr-will-change-world-privacy
Ironically Nostr is far less private to the average end-user. Everyone must really use a VPN unless you enjoy giving dozens of randos your IP address.
Simple answer for home wifi if you have a little linux knowledge, make a vpn gw vm/docker i.e. x.x.x.2 instead of dot 1. Any host you want to use the vpn just have dhcp repoint the default gw to dot 2. No more horrible vpn clients.
Mullvad works great as it’s all just wireguard.
Could something like lightning’s onion be implemented in Nostr?
https://github.com/lightning/bolts/blob/master/04-onion-routing.md
I agree VPNs are important for hiding your IP on nostr, but I still think the situation with large centralized platforms is worse. There you're sharing your information with potentially hundreds of internal employees, compared to maybe half a dozen relay operators.
What’s awesome is that you have a choice and can just change your relays if you don’t like what’s happening
I had to unfollow. It probably needs to be a bit more selective somehow.
