It gets interesting, now Canada is also imposing tariffs. Politicians are like monkeys with knives, if Trump wanted the best for Americans he just had to:

- Reduce the burden on the state.

- Reduce taxes

- Deregulate

He has done the opposite, he has opted for tariffs which is the most communist thing you can do, since you think you understand all the components of the market and you decide for the market.

In conclusion, nothing is going to improve for the average human being, I am sure that the net of all this situation will be negative for the common Joe, maybe he will lower taxes but it will not compensate him for the rise in prices.

We Now Have:

1. US placing 25% tariffs on Canada

2. US placing 25% tariffs on Mexico

3. US placing 10% tariffs on China

4. Canada placing 25% tariffs on US

5. Mexico preparing retaliatory tariffs against the US

Tariffs. Another word for taxes. It's the people that will pay

The poor people at that

All the people including all American businesses who have inputs to their production that come from these countries. That is pretty much all businesses that produce material products.

Lowering taxes does nothing. They have to be eliminated and he should have started with that instead of tariffs.

I agree. I always liked Trump more than any other, but I think he's acting like a statist in this scenario.

I hope for all americans thats this is just one of his scarecrow to sit them down and come with an agreement.

His entire first administration established he is a statist. Without his support Covid Tyranny would not have happened in the US and if it didn't then it would have been weakened worldwide. He even brags about his part in it.

He is heavily paid for by Big Pharma. It is very obvious. He works for the corporations. I think multinationals will do well in Trump's high tariff environment as long as they suck up to his demands. Like usual, small business gets the shaft. He calls stealing from the people and handing it to corporations "creating jobs" but what it's really doing is creating serfs.

how do you square this with the continued existence of RFK Jr?

There are no absolutes.

sure. but are you positing that Trump is bought by big pharma AND those same leash-holders are tolerating the appointment of a secretary who is vowing to dismantle the very same incentive systems?

He's bought by someone. As every single politician. Or he's outright steeling/profit himself.

I think it's the latter. As evidenced by $TRUMP, among other things

It doesn't have to be either or. He does things favorably for them, but they don't own him. He's not a total puppet like his predecessors, I'll hand him that. Both him and RFK and everybody else are fully pwned bitches for Israel though.

Uncle Donald is just playing his cards: he’s here just for his own profit (see $TRUMP,…)😒

Like a statist? He is one.

Yeah amusingly retarded

One good thing though is that everything he's doing - good and bad - is out in the open. People will have to make up their minds about actual real things, rather than just pledge allegiance to superficial nonsense while the deep state gets on with business as usual 10 layers beneath.

Trump is an ignorant pompous ass who is all stick and little carrot. Tariffs are the way to greatly weaken America NOT to make it great again. If he is not ignorant then he is not trying to make America great.

I disagree with tariffs too, but it doesn't look like it will work out for either Canada or Mexico if this chart is accurate

It won't work for US ppl. They will pay the price. That's for sure.

Looks like it did work out for the US people. Trump's tariffs are always bargaining chips. He's a business man.

I'm here for the monkey knife fight [waits patiently]

Watch the Trump interview at the Chicago Club of Economics. I don't agree with him but it helps understand his perspective.
