Damus you can’t zap a post, you have to zap from a profile. But their UI is great and they have a notifications.
I don’t recall doing any KYC with Primal but it’s for sure my daily driver for interacting on Nostr.
Best part is that you don’t have to decide and just use both!
You can zap a post on Damus. You just have to go to zap.army first to enable it.
Damus Zaps isn’t hard.

I am not a fan either. But we do have to meet people where they are.
It's the easiest option out there, but if topped up with in-app purchase (which 99% of newcomers will do) keep in mind Apple takes 30% of the payment, which is a much bigger concern than the light KYC. Also in-app purchase of Sats will only work in 30 or so countries.

Primal has no ( real) kyc but is tighted to an commercial provider, so metadata is may an point.
If u're not in paranoid private mode I would recommend it for ur friends on iPhone.
Everything else has an ( to be fair a small) learning curve for integrating a wallet with nwc, Alby, etc.
