What if the reason for the governments' ridiculous spending spree, is because they have understood that fiat is worthless and want to make it obvious enough to normies, so we can transitition to a ฿itcoin standard?

It could be like you said. But don't attribute to altruism what can easily be explained with stupidity...

It's not necessarily altruism. They might want to use internal resources (self-printed fiat money) to improve their standing within the international system, e.g. by subsidizing certain industries, before the inevitable fiat collapse finally happens.

The incentives don’t align, those closest to the money printer get the greatest benefit of freshly spent money. They are scared of ₿itcoin because they can’t control it, and the ones who think they can control it; are just as dumb as the ones that were frivolously spending thinking they were helping

That's what we're all used to thinking, yes. But what if we're wrong?

If we’re wrong, it would need to be disproven as true

Well, for one, at least in non-banana-republics, politicians don't directly profit financially from money printing. It just enables them to remain in power longer than otherwise, and maybe opens some job opportunities later. So at least part of your assumptions aren't 100% correct.

I don’t know what you mean, Politicians stay in power by making sure they and their friends get rich. Money printing helps them do that.

If you reduce all motivation of politicians to just mere power and money, then you may be right. I personally believe some haven't lost all of their humanity yet.

Sure, some might still have a little humanity left—just not enough to get in the way of their bank accounts.

Yeah not sure about that one mate

Hi volker 🤟🏴‍☠️😉 nice to meet you 🤝

If that were true, it would be the first time in history that governments willingly handed power back to the people. More likely, they’re just addicted to printing and don’t realize the game is already over. Bitcoin doesn’t need their approval only their eventual surrender. ₿

Hi, I know all that, it's common ฿itcoiner trope. It's also wrong, as evidenced by the internet, which ~30 years ago, was just has vilified by governments as ฿itcoin has been.

I was posting a hypothetical, not an assumption 🙃
