GM! Strike account still locked after three days. Support will not even respond to my continued emails and #[0] started ignoring my DMs and keeps shitposting on nostr while I can’t pay my bills because they still have $3k+ of my funds frozen. 💩

F*ck Strike. F*ck KYC. F*ck custodians who steal people’s money for no reason. 🤡

Bro they did this to me too. No explanation, just froze my assets with Strike. They wouldn’t respond to me for a week until i threatened to sue them. The lesson is to never trust any company with your assets. Non KYC is the way. Strike is just a conventional bank that happens to also have BTC. Ill never trust what @jack mallers or his company ever says again. I hope it gets resolved for you

Damn this is alarming. Thank you for your insight.

I probably had to (painstakingly) deal with strike support ~3 times because my debit wouldn't deposit and issues moving funds within the app. after the 3rd time I said fuck strike and haven't used them since.

I hope they make it right for you.

That sucks. They should return your funds if they lock your account… that’s the part that irks me the most.

💯 Exactly. The funds that are currently frozen are completely unconnected to the specific transaction that was flagged. That transaction has now been cleared by Prime Trust but Strike will not respond to my inquires to unlock my account and unfreeze my funds.

Where are all those retail stores he promised would accept Bitcoin by the end of 2022?

Now hes freezing accounts?

Technically, it was Prime Trust who froze multiple accounts of mine due to what they considered a suspicious transaction due to a *very* small discrepancy.

That specific transaction has now been cleared, but Strike will not reply to my multiple support requests to unfreeze my funds– Funds which were totally unconnected to the specific transaction that was flagged.

Go on Twitter and post a complaint. I’m surprised how fast company’s customer service jumps on any mention. I’m a maxi but somethings still have uses . I’m cautious to just chuck things to the side quickly.

Did try that! And I exchanged a few DMs with #[2] here on nostr as well. He seemed willing to help as first but then left me hanging. 👎

This might be the fastest way to fix your problem?!

You are probably right! Be the change you want to see! 😆

Could this also be the pitch as to why LN may not be the right solution for faster payments?

Curious about why you come to this conclusion?

I am thinking higher level of centralization. If service is down you can't move your funds.

Bulk of my funds are on my own node. I can still transact without any intermediaries any time I want. Definitely a good warning not to rely on centralized services however.

Used to work - very - closely with Prime Trust. They typically lock accounts if you’re:

- Laundering money, which involves weird behavior like sending tons and tons of txs to “other accounts” on the same IP address, fund-washing, etc.

- Constantly overdrafting your bank account to purchase Sats, but then burning the bank account -> rinse -> repeat.

99% of the time (in my experience) they make the right call, but have seen them mess up, too.

Thanks for the reply. Was not related to either of those issues.

Prime Trust informed me this was based on a direct deposit that was flagged because the name on the deposit did not match mine. It was easily clarified and remedied on their end, and my other PT accounts were reopened–but Strike has been uncooperative throughout.

Beware of Strike. Jack Mallers is not a friend of Bitcoin.
