Seriously not cool. My Strike account is completely locked for over 24h now with a decent chunk of fiat that just landed with my paycheck overnight. No reply or resolution from Strike support. Can’t pay bills, make payments, or withdraw. Worst of all, I can’t even stack the dip. 😭

#[0] you have lost my trust. Will no longer be using Strike to DCA #bitcoin and would recommend other #bitcoiners to avoid as well. #plebchain

That’s what happens if you trust custodial services. Let this be your lesson.

Use ≠ Trust, but I totally get your point and agree. Have to convert the paycheck to sats somehow though, and Strike seemed like a decent option until now.

convenience you must sacrifice. we have robosats put an offer there with your paycheck amount problem solved.

I use RoboSats all the time and love it.

But this is a fiat paycheck and I currently have no bank account. Strike was only used to convert the weekly direct deposit immediately to sats and then withdraw. Until I can get paid directly in sats, it’s always going to be a trade off. Once you ‘get on zero’ your options are actually pretty limited.

DD into cash app? Spread/fees are worse compared to Strike…

Yeah, exactly why I never used Cashapp and preferred Strike until now. Will have to find another solution to get paid. Not many options out there unfortunately for this type of situation.

bitwage

Thank you! Will check into this, appreciate the tip 💜

IMO Strike has nothing to do with any real demand for bitcoin. Strike is a legacy-finance beachhead in the overall corporate & state attack against bitcoin.

100% agree. @npub1cn4t4cd78nm900qc2hhqte5aa8c9njm6qkfzw95tszufwcwtcnsq7g3vl

100% agree.

It’s like sending your email via fax… makes no sense

Bad analogy but I think you get the point

I bet that is still a real thing

Somewhere in Japan no doubt

I was thinking about Germany, but you're correct, Japan is also a good candidate.

Sorry amigos. No #Strike app issues over here. Still stacking $sats & chilling

Although, the Strike web browser extension no longer allows me to buy BTC. Has been disabled for about two weeks.

Works until it doesn’t… Highly recommend moving away from Strike for good. Still can not get any answer from Strike support why my account and remaining funds are locked for two days now. Been a Strike user for a long time and now they have robbed me.

This is terrible I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. Strike was always a little buggy for me but I only used it to stack sats by paying myself via a lightning invoice after depositing cash, no auto buy or technically purchases through strike.

Hopefully you’re account will get unlocked soon, you can move the fiat off and move to someone else? Swan?

Swan just closed my account too. The dominoes are falling 😩

+1 for Robosats🤖

Whatever you do, AVOID Strike at all costs. They WILL steal your money.

i'm almost certain that it's primetrust to blame. you can reach out to them directly for support as strike's support is horrendous and you'll likely never get a response from them.

this is the exact situation i'm talking about here. have you tried buying from another primetrust exchange? you're probably frozen there too.

take this as a lesson and start buying p2p kyc-free instead. stack into a new wallet not associated with your kyc'd transactions. it's a new day in your bitcoin journey, friend. followed. 🤙

Yep, it’s Prime Trust. My Swan account was closed yesterday as well, even though I haven’t even used it in forever. I got flagged for some reason and no one can tell me why or for what. Nothing has changed in how I use Strike or any other platform. KYC is the illicit activity- but like I have mentioned in the other thread, there’s simply not many options out there once you actually ‘get on zero’ and no longer have a bank acct. Strike was my best option to convert my fiat paycheck directly to sats. Until now 👎

Sent you a DM btw. 🤙

Filou: what kyc free platforms are worthy? Ty

RoboSats🤖 and bisq are my two favs. There are a few others.

this is exactly why primetrust is bad for bitcoin and inherently dangerous:

Sorry you’re experiencing this.

I’ve had nothing but the best service from Strike.

Remember, it only works until it doesn’t. Just like with every other KYC platform. User beware: don’t think you are immune. No one is, it’s only a matter of time and just because you’ve been lucky so far doesn’t mean you always will be. GL

Hey Jack. We felt strongly about #[4] issue with Strike yesterday. Hope you saw it 🤙🏻

#[5]

Be careful with Strike. You are worried about taxes, but you should be worried they can and will take all the funds in your account without warning.

#[2]

GM! Strike account still locked after three days. Support will not even respond to my continued emails and #[0] started ignoring my DMs and keeps shitposting on nostr while I can’t pay my bills because they still have $3k+ of my funds frozen. 💩

F*ck Strike. F*ck KYC. F*ck custodians who steal people’s money for no reason. 🤡

#[1]

Bro they did this to me too. No explanation, just froze my assets with Strike. They wouldn’t respond to me for a week until i threatened to sue them. The lesson is to never trust any company with your assets. Non KYC is the way. Strike is just a conventional bank that happens to also have BTC. Ill never trust what @jack mallers or his company ever says again. I hope it gets resolved for you

Damn this is alarming. Thank you for your insight.

#[4] ⚡️🫡🤝

That sucks. They should return your funds if they lock your account… that’s the part that irks me the most.

💯 Exactly. The funds that are currently frozen are completely unconnected to the specific transaction that was flagged. That transaction has now been cleared by Prime Trust but Strike will not respond to my inquires to unlock my account and unfreeze my funds.

Where are all those retail stores he promised would accept Bitcoin by the end of 2022?

Now hes freezing accounts?

Technically, it was Prime Trust who froze multiple accounts of mine due to what they considered a suspicious transaction due to a *very* small discrepancy.

That specific transaction has now been cleared, but Strike will not reply to my multiple support requests to unfreeze my funds– Funds which were totally unconnected to the specific transaction that was flagged.

Go on Twitter and post a complaint. I’m surprised how fast company’s customer service jumps on any mention. I’m a maxi but somethings still have uses . I’m cautious to just chuck things to the side quickly.

Did try that! And I exchanged a few DMs with #[2] here on nostr as well. He seemed willing to help as first but then left me hanging. 👎

This might be the fastest way to fix your problem?!

https://strike.me/jobs/?gh_jid=4780973004

You are probably right! Be the change you want to see! 😆

Could this also be the pitch as to why LN may not be the right solution for faster payments?

Curious about why you come to this conclusion?

I am thinking higher level of centralization. If service is down you can't move your funds.

Bulk of my funds are on my own node. I can still transact without any intermediaries any time I want. Definitely a good warning not to rely on centralized services however.

Used to work - very - closely with Prime Trust. They typically lock accounts if you’re:

- Laundering money, which involves weird behavior like sending tons and tons of txs to “other accounts” on the same IP address, fund-washing, etc.

- Constantly overdrafting your bank account to purchase Sats, but then burning the bank account -> rinse -> repeat.

99% of the time (in my experience) they make the right call, but have seen them mess up, too.

Thanks for the reply. Was not related to either of those issues.

Prime Trust informed me this was based on a direct deposit that was flagged because the name on the deposit did not match mine. It was easily clarified and remedied on their end, and my other PT accounts were reopened–but Strike has been uncooperative throughout.

Did you have direct deposit into strike for paycheck

Yes. This was a recurring weekly direct deposit that had been set up for over a year with no changes. It was flagged for a *very* insignificant discrepancy that has since been cleared up, but Strike will not unfreeze my funds.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Strike…im sure they will make it right. #[2] runs a solid, Bitcoin only company. I will say it’s good to have a backup way to buy Bitcoin just in case.

I hope you are right. Still waiting for Strike to come through here, but they have handled this completely inappropriately from the start and continue to ignore me.

I think it needs to be clarified though: Strike is definitely NOT a Bitcoin only company, they simply use the Bitcoin network to advance the proprietary fiat rails they have been building. Their focus is on facilitating fiat and KYC monetary exchange, not #Bitcoin.

That’s fair. By Bitcoin only I meant they weren’t in the shitcoin business (besides fiat 😂)

Can’t seem to zap your note btw. Is your LNURL working?

How about now? It was working at one point 🤔

I think WOS is still acting up? It’s maybe not your address, seems to be a wider problem.

Not still, but *again*

Or so i hear from WoS users

I see. Zaps still⚡️working from #[5] 💪

✊✊✊

They’re baaaack! ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Yoooo thanks 🙏🏼 glad you pointed it out for me
