We fixed a bug that was probably to blame. Please try visiting Elsat's post on fanfares again. No payment required. It should unlock this time for your account since you already paid.
I'll dig into it further. Can you confirm you are logged into Fanfares with your pubkey?

If y’all haven’t already, try bitchat. To me it is the most refreshing onboarding experience, as it hides create account/login.

Fanfares makes an account automatically when you show up and even gives you a lightning wallet to receive/send funds instantly. You don't need to sign in to use it.
If you zap from another client, then you need to login with that same account on Fanfares to see the secret content.
We're working on adding bunker login and are happy to support other methods too by request

back at the site... it still had the waiting for payment.... refreshed and it just made a new invoice..

I half looked at fanfare, but they do it via encrypted events right? And as such there are client dependecies for this to work?
I think doing this via relays makes more sense, i.e. paying the subscription or whatever simply unlocks additional content from the relay where the stuff is stored. This way it works with any client and the experience is seamless all around.
Oh, and i paid for your think twice via two different ways and it does not work.
First i opened the link on my phone and paid the invoice; after waiting endlessly i opened up fanfare on my desktop, signed in with my profile, then paid your invoice again and still....nothing other than "waiting for payment"
I think giftwrap seals make the most sense so it can’t be trivially rebroadcasted, not sure if thats how they are doing it.
I am biased because i an thinking about giftwrap support in nostrdb, which will be nice since you will still be able to query unwrapped things.
Well, on the one hand there is the " - "tag, on the other you could personalized/watermarked events to identify the source of the leak and ban that customer if you find out.
Dunno, my bias goes towards the best measure against piracy being as seamless as possible, and the moment i have to go to a specific app you already lost me. 🏴☠️⛵️

Did not work with alby browser extension connected to LNbits through lndhub. Because the payment is “confirmed” for the extension when LNbits starts trying to pay for it, but is not paid yet. Te web app showed an error like “response had no preimage” and then when the payment completed nothing happened. Tried also to pay the invoice externally and nothing happened.

Ok, I figured out the problem and deployed a fix for it! Sorry for the wait! Maybe launching on a Friday is a bad idea 😅
The problem was your minibits lightning provider doesn't publish the P tag with the payer's pubkey which our payment verification checks for. However, the pubkey is also available in the description tag, so we now fallback to that. No problem!
