I’ve read a similar perspective before on the gap between stimulus and response, but can’t remember who said it.

I got this insight from Viktor frankl.

Having kids will test this, nearly every day.

Meditation has definitely stretched that moment for me

Response > Reaction

We avoid the space between stimulus and response because it’s uncomfortable.

But staying in that space, not reacting, is where freedom grows.

Breathe. Stay. That space is not empty, it’s full of wisdom.

Don’t rush. You’re already where you need to be.
