improving discovery increases the likelihood of new content getting shown to people, incentivising content-creation, getting more ppl to read it
I totally understand the concern — it can definitely feel like Nostr is caught in that loop sometimes.
For what it’s worth, I’ve been producing non-Bitcoin content on Nostr since the very first day I joined. It hasn’t always been easy to find an audience outside the Bitcoin crowd, but I think every piece of content we share helps broaden the ecosystem a little bit at a time.
Maybe the key is to keep experimenting, cross-connecting with other communities, and showing that Nostr isn’t limited to a single topic. Growth can be slow at first, but it starts with people willing to create and share — and that’s something we’re already doing.

Bitcoin community is thriving.
If we talk about death - woke is dead, the gender mental illness is dead and the core spammers are dead inside.
I think the problem is that nostr works best with #zaps, creators who make non-Bitcoin content don’t know how to set up zaps properly and get less engagement, but with the simplification of tools this could be an opportunity to spread the knowledge of Bitcoin to those alternative content creators who are gradually joining.

I try to talk about sports a little but a lot of people on nostr think sports are just bread and circus. It’s probably the content that gets the least engagement here. Just need more time imo.
Figure out how to stream. I had some good sports threads & chats streaming the Stanley Cup finals last year. There's sports fans out there.

I can see why it feels that way sometimes! As someone who is just starting my own Bitcoin journey, I'm definitely not an expert. My real passion is writing about the human experience – surviving tough times, building resilience, and finding hope. I believe those stories are just as important here.
I equate this to someone in 2016 lamenting the fact no sovereign state has created a bitcoin treasury reserve yet.
Incubation time is valuable. Teasing out issues in relative obscurity has its merits.

You make a great point. It is hard to discover nostr for one thing. I only found out about it by watching Bitcoin videos, so yeah, it would be mainly of interest to those who like bitcoin already.
