My whole nostr feed is bots reposting stuff from Twitter.
I miss my frens on my feed 👀
Feels like Twitter all over again.
But I also don’t want to unfollow all of these bots yet since they got some value.
Any way to filter these posts to only show up if they hit a specific like number or zaps?
Or only allow certain time interval? My ratio is literally 8 news bots notes to 2 frens notes.

THE NOSTR EQUIVALENT OF SAYING YOU SEE VALUE IN BLOCKCHAIN BUT NOT BITCOIN.
Gonna have to get the network effects that Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, LinkedIn have achieved in order to really unlock the “value” of social media.
I have good friends who are huge bitcoiners, anti-government, “sovereign” who are still off NOSTR and on Twitter because the content (network effect) is so much better on Twitter…regardless of the censorship/throttling.
They have a point…the GM culture over here is “cute” … but it isn’t valuable. The content over here is far inferior to Twitter.
I SEE THE MOST VALUE IN THE ABILITY TO OWN MY IDENTITY AND BRING MY FOLLOWERS TO DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES. ENCRYPTED CHAT, SNAPCHAT/STORIES (NON-PERMANENT POSTS), PHOTO FEED, ETC. ARE MUCH MORE INTERESTING BECAUSE THEY CAN BE LEVERAGED BY SMALLER COMMUNITIES WITH HIGHER QUALITY CONTENT. IT’S GOING TO TAKE A WHILE TO MAKE THE NOSTR SOCIAL FEED INTERESTING/USEFUL—AND THIS MIGHT NOT EVER HAPPEN DUE TO PSYCHOLOGICAL INCENTIVES OF PERMANENT POSTS. ALSO, I’M NOT QUITE SURE YET IF ZAPS ARE A POSITIVE OR A NEGATIVE INFLUENCE ON TYPES OF CONTENT SHARED TO THE FEED. ALL THE INTERESTING THINGS ARE GOING TO CONTINUE HAPPENING ON X FOR A WHILE.

Me too. In NIP-24 there is a specification that automated accounts/bot should be marked with bot (true/false).
But i don't believe many accounts have the flag set correctly nor have I seen any support in clients (yet).
Then incentive when running a bot acc is to not tick that I am assuming.
Otherwise you’ll get handled differently

Don't follow them. Just follow the people that post good stuff. As soon as you see garbage, just mute the person.
For example I haven't seen any twitter link for probably more than a week.
What's more, they all use the same form. I don't follow any robot to avoid this kind of feed.
Yes you’re literally the only news bots I follow. But still there are sooo many notes now of you in my feed compared to frens.

I’m struggling to understand how nostr works tbh, my feed is incredibly boring, and when I post something it seems like no one sees it, either my posts sucks donkey balls through a garden hose (that’s some really hard sucking) or I have done something wrong.. 🫥
Takes some time to find the right people.. but it pays off massively after investing in commenting and venturing out in the nostr universe.
Now I know you / followed you. And this is how you find genuine connections.
Interacting with content you like.
The key is to engage with people and respond to their posts. That will lead them to your content feed and then most likely a follow. It’s what led me to your account and a follow. 🤙
I had the same issue, now I mostly hang out in the global feed, scrolling until I see some good stuff to comment on. Some of those people followed me so I follow them back. Eventually I might have enough of a fun personal feed to go back there.
Depending on who's following you and what time of day you post, it might be limited at what show up for others, and if they feel like reacting or commenting on what you write.
Sometimes I get no response and others I get maybe 3.
If I ever see 50 comments or likes or something on someone's post, I'm highly surprised.
Maybe those people are all on paid relays so I never see them though 🤔
Everyone can post Note on NOSTR ( notes and other stuff transmitted by Relay ) . whether paid , free or build your own relay .
Put hashtag on your post will make it easy for people to find your post .
people response or not , it depend on their preference .
you are your own alghortm , you choose which user you want to interact with . Bring your friend along onboard on Nostr😀
the best thing maybe : find one account you like and click on their right of profile and you have a choice to copy their public key, copy that dan save it , so every time you post , you can tag their public key so he will reply you back. hm... hope this help people discover you.

Following hashtags works well for me. You get posts about the topic you like...
Lean on that follow button and purge as you see fit later. I follow well over 1,000 npubs and my feed teaches me new stuff all the time. People wouldn't see your posts if they don't follow you or any hashtags you used, so hop in the comments of others and your tribe will find you.
I’d say create a separate feed of just those npubs with a minimum of interactions or zaps per post and then unfollow them
find organic user , which is not bot . the last thing Relay note will be bad if too much bot on the relay.

I really don't know why you would follow news bots. I came to Nostr for the signal and connecting with real people.

For now I like following and creating bots. There is not enough accounts to get all the information that one would be interested in, so a bot can solve that. And you don't have to go back to twitter looking for the news... 😜
Create a custom feed with posts from those bots and then unfollow them so they don’t show in your main feed.
