No problem!
Exactly, as long as you keep up with your maintenance, that amount of mileage without major engine or trans issues should be fairly certain.
It’s just that they set the bar so high. My last Toyota was a Corolla that I got rid of at 200k miles and pretty sure it had close to 400k miles by the next owner before it finally died due to body issues, engine and trans were still the original.
That being said, new Toyotas have much better safety features and technology, and great styling so maybe that equalizes things :)
I see this is really emissions driven, which is setting off a scam alert, but thinking back to the 1970's cities were almost unlivable due to emissions (from stories I have heard).
So some improvement here is healthy.
I guess my main choice is concluding if I want to tow anything or not. Also now deciding between a tacoma, 4runner, or land cruiser... leaning more towards an SUV right now.
Agreed.
All good options to choose from! One advantage the 2024 4Runner has is that it’s the last year of the 4.0V6 before they switch to the turbo V4 found in the new Tacoma and Land Cruiser. So you could get the best of both worlds, old world reliability and modern tech.
Good luck with your decision making and enjoy the new car smell!
