If we image the mind as our body and the information we take in as food, it provides a useful metaphor in choosing what apps we use and what media we consume.

Imagining a future where I can load data into my mind with a USB cable (secutiy, ethics, and safety aside) I would be extremely conscious of the quality of the data I am taking in.

I wouldn't want corrupt data or data with ads in it. Likewise I wouldn't want to take in data created by people who don't reflect my values.

That example might sound extreme, but we are only one step removed from this reality. My phone is currently 7 inches from my face. The throughoutput is slower, but the outcome is the same. Be conscious of who's words or ideas you are taking in through entertainment or education.

Consuming low quality content does to your mind what fast food does to your body.

We usually don't upload directly to our mind. We're filtering & manipulating before committing to storage, particularly if it's words.

The exception to this is images & videos. They don't need to be processed first. They can slip past your defences & effect you in ways you don't consciously realise. We should be particularly careful what media were consume.

Yes absolutely. Everything comes in through a filter of our own interpretations and then gets slotted in with our existing associations.
