Like a mid thigh sundress
The little billowy cotton dress with spaghetti straps. Is that right?
I just watched a video of this woman saying men have a different idea of a sundress... from the answers I received, it is short, thin, spaghetti strap dresses....where women think more
I thought they were meant to be sleeveless dresses, too. Maybe not spaghetti only but spaghetti or tank straps.
I thought it was just cute flowy dresses with different straps or short sleeves.... i didn't realize that a lot of men like short, thin as well
Well what they like and the definition of sundress are not the same π
Let me say thisβ¦ I think guys like form fitting dresses β¨on perfect bodiesβ¨
I tried on a mermaid wedding dress because I love that look. I did NOT love it on me π€£ I would be much cuter (positively cute) in a flowy sundress than a skintight mini (negatively cute)β¦
I hear ya. I do better with flowy dresses or ones that are tight right underneath the breast/ hight stomach area and with a flowing skirt. if the material is cheap and you can see all the rolls, then it doesn't look right, also it is hard to wear spaghetti strap when you are larger chest, the spaghetti strings dont look right with a bra strap, also if you CAN find a strapless bra that doesn't look like you are wearing fifty tube tops over each other, then i don't know....all my dresses are either really loose or the same shape. Fitting on top, with the tight spot under the chest, and loose on the bottom.
For the record that's a perfectly passable sundress in my male sundress mental schema.
Flow state, a dress that shows to a Sunday bbq or a hot humid night down downtown. Flirty not short, fun not proper.
Something like this
I love this dress. If the straps were a tad wider, maybe almost upside down triangle shape. I would buy it a minute.
I like this better than spaghetti straps, but the wider/triangle shape would look good. I bet this dress would be interesting in a denim color/style.
Kind of pinup/classic calendar girl from the 50s denim?
Well pinup makes me think short dress, in my mind I would simply swap the material and keep the same pattern. It would be similar to those poodle skirts but with the whole dress and not just the bottom portion. And without the weird poodle embroidered on it π€
Not a guy, but this is the type of dress I consider sundress. Maybe it's regional thinking? South = hot sun = no sleeves = sundress π€·ββοΈ. You pair it with a short or long sleeve cardi or shawl.
This is almost the spitting mental model for a sundress. Slightly above the knee, but maybe less patterned in my mind.
Looks like a pretty wadded pile on the floor, because that's where it ends up after I have to strip it off her because she's so sexy in it. It's mission accomplished for the dress when we get down to business....
Lightweight cotton. Pleated or ruffled. Just past knee length. Some light shines through the fabric. Short sleeved. Often yellow or white or spring colors.
How did I do? I didn't cheat, this is what I think a sun dress is. Now I'll go read the other answers.
