I think the overall debate has to be about the jurisdictions you're attracting the leading development teams of technology that can destroy regimes that fear the truth

Free market... If the people putting on the event decide to host it somewhere and it has a shitty turnout, they will have to adjust to what the market wants in the future or fail. Simple solution if you don't like the decision is to not attend.
