This is a weird question but have any of you intentionally induced an out of body experience without taking anything?

There are people who claim they can do it but it’s hard to believe.

I haven't intentionally had an OBE (though I have in my sleep by accident), but it can be done. The body produces DMT naturally, and so you can find ways to get your body to produce more of it such that you induce such an experience. I know that there are breathing techniques for that purpose.

Yeah do not believe any claims, when we sleep we think is real most of the time, some people just remain confused after that.

You can experiment yourself and even if you manage to do it, it will still be subjective and unmeasurable.

Somethings will remain outside of science forever. If you find a way to properly reproduce it though, a Novel price awaits you 😀

I was into that stuff as a younger man. I went to Monroe Institute in Virginia and did one of their week long workshops intended to create the environment to induce an OBE using their Hemi-Sync technology. I didn't have one while I was there. I just learned some really good meditation skills. But I did have one a few months later at my home. And it was confirmed by other people who provided waking details that matched exactly what I experienced. There was no question. I tried to induce one again several times but was unable. Then I got bored with it (I have a sort attention span).

How did you trigger it at your home?

Listening to my Hemi-Sync tapes that I got from the workshop. I had been listening to them pretty regularly as they were extremely relaxing. I'd usually use them for meditation or sometimes sleep. I'm this instance, I was laying on my sofa downstairs, and I heard a knocking on my door. So I got up, still in a dreamy state, when upstairs, looked out the window and I saw my friend and his girlfriend walking from my door back to their car. They got in and drove away. I then woke up still laying on the couch. About an hour later I called my friend and he told me they stopped by but I wasn't home. I asked him what he and his girlfriend were wearing, and he described exactly what I saw. He said they knocked on the door, but nobody answered so they walked back to the car and left. So, I somehow made my way upstairs, and looked out the window while I was on the sofa downstairs listening to my tapes and kinda hovering in that space between wakefulness and sleep. I initially thought I was dreaming, but apparently I detached, moved through the house, and observed them leaving.

It happened to me. Only once. Didn’t do it on purpose. Didn’t even know this was possible. Never talked about it to someone.

Care to share the experience?

It was weird to be honest. Kinda saw myself from above just laying there. Didn’t know what was going on. Didn’t know whether I’m actually alive or dead. Feelings and emotions I never felt before and afterwards. Probably a weird cocktail mix of hormones flushing through my body. No feeling for time. Time was gone. Started heavily crying right after the experience. Got a rush of positive and happy feelings after crying. Couldn’t control emotions. Everything was just happening. Very weird

What triggered it? What was the setting?

Unknown for me what triggered it. 2 months prior my dad passed away but don’t know whether this had to do something with it.

The setting was me sitting at home on the couch with my dog. No phones, no tv nothing. Just me and my dog on the couch. I kinda passed out. But I don’t know for how long. Was it 5min? 10min? 30min? Or only a matter of seconds? Unknown

Yes, it is a very old skill that I haven't used in years. Why do you want to do this?

Yes during a trauma and also with Bufo

Closest I get is a vivid dream definitely not intentional though.

Contact Susan Blackmore somehow. She wrote The Meme Machine but before that she did a lot of research into OBEs having had one herself.

I met Susan many years ago - she’s a lovely person - and thought she might be hard to locate. Not so. Just type her name into Google or go straight to https://www.susanblackmore.uk/

Though mediation and after a long time you get to that state where time flies... Not quite out of body but kind of weird, yes.

not personally but a frind of mine did. Check out the book "Journeys Out of the Body" by Robert A. Monroe. Super fascinating and he explains his whole technique to do what he does
