Not sure why he's singling out notifications as a problem on decentralized apps though ...
It sounded a bit muddled. It’s true that apps on iOS can’t run daemons therefore can only receive a notification (when not running) through a server that integrates with Apple’s push servers which makes them for sure not fully decentralized.
That’s not quite what he said, so I’m just grasping here.
